Not formally announced as yet by the club. Just an indication he will agree to an extension.

Same goes for Broomhead & Ben Kennedy. Understanding has been reached with the club but not formally signed on as yet.

I know it is probably the wrong thread but I think we should trade Blair and keep Goldy. It is one or the other and for me Goldy is better and more versatile, and Kennedy is a ready replacement for Blair.

I would trade Blair, but clearly the club see it differently thus the 2 year extension being offered. Don't think Blair impacts the scoreboard enough and is too small to be an elite mid these days.

Not too many left... Martin, Seedsman, Gault, Ramsay and Frost for 2014 guys. Then there are a couple of 2015 guys you'd like to see extended, Beams and Elliott in particular. I wouldn't be surprised to see Macaffer and Scharenberg extended either, just to give them assurances about 2016.

So Blair could still be trade?

Yes :) if so

Mason Cox is signed until 2016 - every international rookie gets a mandatory 2 year deal first up - provides extra security for them, so that they know they're not moving to another country only to be dumped after a year.

As this is Gault's first year on the rookie list isn't he entitled to a 2 year contract i.e expires 2015?

Do contracts even mean anything anymore?

Whew, 2016 is going to be a big year with sign-ups.
It is a long list but some will be no brainer (they will re-sign eg Pendles & Moore), others will probably retire eg Swan, others we won't be too fussed if they don't sign eg Blair & maybe White. There will also be some amongst them that might be prioritised for signing an extension during 2015 eg I'm hoping their performance dictates it with Witts, Williams, Adams, Fas, Broom, BK. I'm also more confident that we will be performing well in 2016 and it will be easier to re-sign players than next year when it's critical we extend Elliott, Seeds, Shaz, Freeman & Langdon

No, the mandatory 2 year contract applies for first year players only. The only reason Gault was re-rookied last year was because he was still contracted.
