Was doing abit of reading today and found out that Aussie Rules and Football (soccer) were iron ally variants of Rugby Football (which is now called Rugby Union).

The Football Association (FA) was founded by combining both Sheffield Rules and Cambridge Rules Football.

And in early variations of soccer players were allowed to catch the ball and therefore receive a free kick from it (now known as a mark in AFL).
And to add to that:
Association Football (soccer) was called 'soccer' nearly a full 2 decades before it is first recorded as being called the singular 'football'. Australian soccer fans who get pissy about people calling it soccer and calling AusF/AmF/RL 'football' really give me the shits. If anyone has a right to whinge about other sports ripping off the term 'football' it's Rugby Football i.e. the original 'football' fans.

Denmark has just outlawed bestiality in a bid to kerb animal sex tourism. I didn't know that being intimate with fido was legal there in the first place.
In completely unrelated news, there has been a 92% drop in requests for Danish visas from New Zealanders.

Adding to the Malcolm in the Middle bizz, Frankie Muniz, who plays the title character and the 2nd youngest sibling, is actually older than Justin Berfield whose character is older than Malcolm.

- Perhaps surprisingly, Hobart is the driest capital city in Australia.

- Australia has the 9th lowest population density of any country or dependency. For every square kilometre, we have 3.1 people. In contrast, Macau has over 21,000 people per square kilometre while Greenland has 0.03.

It used to be 2.1 or 2.2 not all that long ago. And country wise, we're the 3rd lowest (behind Mongolia & Namibia).
