Greatest Premiership era maybe, team I'll argue Brisbane's 3peat side would beat them 99 games out of 100. Hawks would be thanking their lucky stars they've played 4 strait at the G against interstate teams for 3 wins. In 2 of which WA sides absolutely shat the bed. You can only beat whats in front of you I guess, but Brisbane were simply awesome and got the job done travelling to the G and beating Melbourne based teams. Beat Essendon in 2001 in an upset after the Bombers 2000 side was labelled the best of all time too.

Bombers lost 11 games in 3 seasons between 99-2001 including winning an AFL record 21 of 22 in 2000. Netted then 1 cup. Ouch. Interestingly one other team in history matched that 2000 season, Geelong in 2008. 21 wins 1 loss home and away. Hawks pinched the Premiership off them that year and then finished 9th in '09. I mean, I'm not saying they're lucky but if the Hawks did post-season trips to Vegas Casino's would be going out of business left and right.

Hi West Coast fans. I hope you will excuse the interruption. I just wanted to say thanks. Eagles fans have been very gracious and dignified this week. Many of you travelled a long way, and paid a high price to do so, only to see your team have a stinker of a day. You must be disappointed yet you have collectively handled yourselves with class. You deserve credit for that.
Best wishes for next year and beyond. Hawthorn lost a GF in 2012 and it made our players stronger. So hang in there...

Just got enough courage to watch the GF on Fox..I don't know how but we looked better on TV than live...looked terrible live on a side note Sheppard deserves our best and fairest he can hold his head up high
You're a braver man than I... Might try and sit through it this weekend.

Im still in denial about the result. I wont be watching anything to do with the GF for many years. As far as I am concerned it never happened.
You needed to go in with lower expectations mate!
The players should have to watch it each round before every game. And especially during the preseason. Maybe broadcast it on the tvs at Subi while they train, if they do still train there.
