Perfect.
Yes indeed, and not just in terms of for the Saints. It's been great marketing for the Saints, but they've also showcased New Zealand very well: golf, paragliding, rafting, scenery, etc, etc. There'd be plenty of people who watched those vids for the Saints, but who are probably now thinking, "ooh, a holiday to Queenstown might be fun!"Exceptionally well marketed and presented - well done Saints !
Saunders has a big-assed tank, like really big, which is great when it is combined with his speed, a combo that not all that many have. Has an athletics background I think. Don't be surprised if he steps it up a notch or two next year, with another preseason under his belt and possibly a bit more bulk/strength and hopefully more midfield time.Does anybody know much about Josh Saunders fitness levels? We know he has pace, but I have never really heard his endurance levels mentioned as a real asset. He seems to consistently be running near the front of the pack in every video I have seen for this pre-season. The fact he is rubbing shoulders with Geary in a lot of these videos is a very good sign.
I hope Saunders makes it. We have very few line breakers, so I am keen to see either Saunders or Wright cement a spot in the side to fulfil this need. Both have that rare combo of speed and endurance, and are also very hard at it. If we could just somehow improve their kicking we would have a couple of very valuable players on our hands.Saunders has a big-assed tank, like really big, which is great when it is combined with his speed, a combo that not all that many have. Mainly sandy preseason wrap up
Savage has been training with sandy. Anyone know why? Weird that he wouldn't be in NZ.
Everyone probably heard but sip is back in melb
Also TDL benches more than most players that are still on our list inc players like fisher
Also Holmes still doesn't know the rules yet, ball went through the points, he grabs it and just kicks it like outside 50
Also I think it was saints thunder that said Mitch brown was playing down at sandy next year and made a verbal agreement with them. I'm not saying he isn't but he isn't training with them yet. Maybe doesn't want to play for us when we might have mccartin, spencer, longer all clogging up his fwd line.
Luke Holmesby @LukeHolmesby 14s14 seconds agoAnyone know when the new numbers are coming out?
Think its only us & GWS left.
Lots of photos up from training today:

Great signs for McKenzie, that is super impressive straight off the bat. As for Newnes, he is primed to take a massive step forward this year.http://stk.lt/1DKbHRS
Newnes 1st, Saunders 2nd and DMac 3rd in the 2km time trial.
Very impressed with McKenzie. For a first year to keep pace with Newnsey shows that he'll have the tank to play a lot of games early if he's good enough in other areas.
I want a BIG pre-season comp from Markworth. That'd throw the cat among the pigeons, in terms of spots for round 1.Eli & Matkworth have noticeably bigger frames..
