Prepaid vs Contract

Has anyone made the switch from being on a contract to going prepaid?

I'm looking at the pros and cons and so far I am amazed at how much cheaper prepaid is.

ALDI (who use Telstra's coverage) offer the same amount of calls, sms and DATA allowance for $35per month. Compared to Telstras contract which is ober $200 per month.

Downside is the fact that I would have to provide my own phone with prepaid compared to paying my phone off with standard contract..

Anyone made the switch?

5GB date, $1000 text/calls per month with free air wifi till june 30 for $40

What does that ALDI product get you?

Im looking now at that Boost Mobile

$20, uses same coverage as Telstra 4G, 1GB standard + extra 500mb every weekend, unlimited text

Probably just keep using my Samsung galaxy 4 for another year until i can afford the 6 versions. Ive heard bad things about the 5's

I buy my phones outright and use byo plans.
Currently on a $40 telstra service $1000 of calls, unlimited sms and 7gb data.

I looked telstras up and their call rate is $1 per min.

ALDI was:
50,000 SMS and 20,000 MMS1

4GB standard data + 1GB weekend data3

FREE ALDI to ALDI calls & SMS

And 43,000 mins of call
for $35

Yeh i dont call much but check out Boost mobile aswell

Using the telstra 4g network
$20 ultra deal a month prepaid

Unlimited text
100 mins of calls

It suits me with limited calls but maybe not yourself or others.

Also expires end of tomorrow i believe
