Preseason injury watch

Some hereditary condition to do with the bones in his foot - can't be fixed :(
Did they know about it before drafting and took a punt? Or did it only show up after it was injured.

Think it showed up post initial injury. His endurance running was very strong in his first pre season so I doubt the issue was their already

Sounds like we're pretty healthy at the mo, touch wood, with Geary (strained quad) the only one meant to have a current injury.

Freeman is apparently being brought along very slowly, with it seems strengthening his hamstring, core and so-on being much more of a current focus than rushing him into full training and then we also have Longer and Membrey who are almost ready to join full training, after late season shoulder reco's.

Jarrad Grant broke his wrist during a Gold Coast cycling session.

New club, same creativity when looking for a pre-season injury
Luckily for us, still will be able to run so he won't lose any fitness, and the club has said he should be back for NAB 3.

What has been nice for us is for the first time in our existence, we have little injuries looking into the new season and our list is looking pretty healthy.

So other than Grant, our 2 major concerns are:

Swallow- Has been running for the past week or so, may get some NAB game time, but is pretty much 100% for round 1.

O'Meara- Taking our time with him, he is progressing really well and is starting to run. Will probably not play any NAB game time. He and the rest of us are hoping round 1, but he could be pushed back to a round 3 or 4 depending on how he is pulling up from a full training load once again.

Half of Freo's list is in the sheds.

As far as I know the Saints are all clear on the injury front.

Not true ,all rehab members apart from Alex Pearce and Apeness ready to resume with the main squad. Fyfe,Bennell will play Nab.
Pearce will resume in the next couple of weeks. Apeness is the only long termer at this stage.

Jarrad McVeigh - Has started running for the first time this preseason as of 27th Jan, after knee surgery
Ben McGlynn - On individually tailored program, soft tissue problems, still not running yet
Zak Jones - Knee op over off-season, only a week or two away from being fully fit.
Sam Naismith - Has progressed to running after groin issues throughout 2015
Alex Johnson - Still seeking medical advice to determine next course of action. Will miss 99% of 2016.

Josh Green will be in a moon boot for 10 weeks apparently. Rockliff had a minor shoulder issue and Nick Robertson had a minor knee (?) procedure as well. Don't know if anyone else is injured for us at the moment.
Nick with a knee injury??

That's not good. That's exactly what Polec had last season before he was diagnosed with his navicular. Fingers crossed Howe is good to go.

First time since 2011 the Blues have not had a lengthy injury list two weeks from NAB cup usually we would have about seven-10 players from starting 22 on the sidelines or its been like that past five years.

As far as I am aware Plowman still out for another month. His first half of 2016 for the Blues will be shaky at best but he will need games in view of strong second half of year. Poor kid will be copping a lot of flak on his first 10 or so games.. I hope he keeps his confidence up and gives it a crack.

Gussy is good to play

Jaksch is good to play not putting on weight though. Will be an interesting observer because he is a top talent.

Sumner not have seen him much still injured

Casboult and Murphy in full training

Would be the 4th navicular on a Dees player in the last 6-7 years plus Clark's Lisfranc.
