Yeah, I'll settle for that. In terms of first choice midfield, 6th is about right. Rockliff, Redden, Rich, Hanley, Moloney, Zorko as first choice is fantastic. Harwood, Lester, Beams are okay. But hopefully Aish, Taylor, Mayes develop well and join the other 6. If they can do that it would be hard to find a better midfield out there.
Mayes is pretty much already in with the other 6 IMO, just needs to bulk up a little

Okay, if we are going to be like that.... Let's compare Cotchin's 2012 to Rockliff's 2011:

Winner of each stat based on averages:

Disposals: Rockliff.
Marks: Rockliff.
Tackles: Rockliff.
Goals: Cotchin.
Clearances: Rockliff.
Supercoach points: Rockliff.

Yup.. Clearly Cotchin's 2012 is better than Rockliff has ever done!

Once again your argument is invalid.
Wrong. Cotchin averaged 5.1 clearances in 2012. Rockliff averaged 4.1 clearances in 2011. 5.1 > 4.1.

He also had more contested possessions, more goals, more assists, more contested marks, more marks inside 50, over 40 more inside 50s, less clangers... the list goes on.

But yeah Rockliff had 0.2 more disposals and 0.6 more tackles per game so he was clearly better.

I blame those stats on poor coaching & structures from Voss. He was way out of his depth as a senior coach. I believe we have excellent midfielders, they just need better guidance, which might come from Leppa this year

Still can't see how you are 6th. I am anti essendon as anyone on BF but how is Brisbanes midfeild better? Again with the comparaion - also > is greater than.

Watson > Rockcliff
Goddard > Reddan
Stanton = Rich
Zaharakis > Moloney

Best with best and work your way down.

Hanley is not better than Heppell - for a poster that loves his stats you may not want to compare these two.

Also stay away from Stanton and Moloney. Not as equal as you think.

Doesnt matter if hanley averages 3 less didposals. Every time he gets it he breaks lines and creates scoring opportunities. Hanleys stats are much more valuable than heppels

Riiiiggghhht - now I get it.

Brisbane player more disposals is the better player - see Rocky and Cotchin.
Brisbane player with less stats is the better player - see Hanley and Heppell.

3rd last? I thought you placed them in player order - all teams are very close.
I didnt put them in any order. Hanley would be top 2 or 3 though

Theres a difference. Rocky and cotchin are both very similar players - so comparing stats gives a good enough indication. Hanley and heppel are completely different players - the stats dont do justice

If you guys want to use stats to back up your heppel vs hanley argument - go look at the goal assists, marks , score involvments and goals (hanley kickef twice as many goals) stats for 2013. Plus hes only marginally behind in disposals(2 disposal discrepancy means nothing when you create as many scores as hsnley does)

Heppell has double the clearances and nearly double the contested possessions.

0.3% difference in marks!!
