I think I had the same problem once and got it resolved quickly and easily so the problem must be at your end.

Words and numbers? Numbers only? Cardinal or ordinal date? Leading zero on the month? 2 digit year? 4 digit year? Dashes? Slashes?

Got an Email from Transperth this morning. ECU had submitted my birth date in an "unusable format", so they corrected it to dd/mm/yyyy/ I jumped on about 15 minutes ago and it went straight through. Got it to autoload $30, sorted

Now that I'm quoted in someone's sig, I think I've pretty much made it on BF.
