Look through this website, http://www.finder.com.au/travel-money, because apparently the best bet is to take two cards - one for withdrawing money from (I think there is a card out there with no international ATM fees - 28Degrees used to have that, but apparently it now doesn't), and another card for international transactions (Which you would use the 28Degrees card for. There's no fees on that)

Travel cards and an emergency credit card which I kept in the hostel.

Europe is awesome in that there aren't normally addition fees for international cards.

Interesting. The multiple wallets concept seems a little awkward but I suppose if you only need one currency...

Yeah, but it's to a maximum of $10. I'll put most of my money on at first (no charge) and then reload once towards the end of my trip when I'm not doubt desperate for more money.
