What would be the negatives of moving on O'Bree and trading for Tuck.

Are there any?

Note I am not an O'Bree hater or basher and will defend ANY of our players to death around this place, but there comes a time when I look at the list, throw loyalties aside and get serious pissed off seeing other teams take home flags. I have compared stats, disposals and ages, I am finding it very hard to find anything wrong with the club making this move.

Any hope of getting Seaby as a backup ruck just went out the window.

West Coast ruckman Mark Seaby has confirmed he wants to join Sydney next year after being offered a three-year contract.
"He has committed to Sydney and West Coast have been advised of that," manager Wayne Loxley said yesterday. "We are hopeful that a suitable trade can be arranged."

And all it took was a probable 3rd round draft pick and a 3 year deal.

This one I am angry about Collingwood not even offering him a deal, not good enough when at the moment we will only have 2 AFL class rucks on our list, and one of them has a chronic knee problem.

Maybe make a back door play for Jolly now?

Thank god.

The last thing we needed was a player who is no longer AFL standard.

Seaby is a crab and would not get a game ahead of Josh and Wood.

As for Jolly, we should not pursue him IMO.

His price tag (trade wise) is far too excessive considering his contract status and age.

If we are trading away picks I want a superstar i.e. Daniel Kerr.

Shane Tuck has been growing on me. Clearance player, wouldn't cost our first round pick, in that age bracket that we lack (24-28), strong body (90 odd kilos).

Its almost, stress 'almost' a no-brainer.

so fraser cut your lunch eh? strange the bloke is going bald

We have two fraser when fit and wood when not doing his best impression of a gimp, then we have keefe who shows signs.

Draft a ruck, then rookie witts when he is available

Just on Keefe, a question for the VFL watchers.

How is his tap work? I've always thought his promise came from his athleticism and skills for a big guy. Is his tap work actually any good?

Also, I think it was TRS who made mention of a ruckman in this draft called Max Gawn. Where is he at currently?

And Fraser is almost gone imo. His knee if ****ed, he can't jump, he is skinny, he is now slow, lacks athleticism that he once had. 2010 should be his final year.

Ohh we missed out on Seaby did we.....Ohhhhhhhh i'm so distraught.

Good, move on now and be done with this rubbish talk.

Now, we need to find a potential ruckman that may take us to a premiership, not another tall list clogger like Bryan.

I think his tap work has a fair way to go. At this stage there's a lot of effort for not much effect. He's still skinny and he doesn't have a great leap, not to mention being a novice. On the positive side he's 204cm, and his effectiveness should improve as he bulks up.

He's nowhere near the certainty that some people on this board seem to think he is. But there's a bit to work with.

Wont happen, but could be win win. WB and Geelong are in the need of a forward. We could do with a midfielder. Trav Cloke for Griffin/J Kelly.

He's still around... he may slide a bit due to the knee concerns, but I still think he'd be a 2nd round proposition. I saw in one of the phantoms on the Drafts/Trading board they had him going to the Pies at our 3rd rounder; but that, I would think, is a pipedream.

Brian Lake ( formally Brian Harris) may move to Collingwood and play under the name of Brian Mchale to honor the late Jock Mchale.
Or maybe a move to Melbourne playing under the name of Brian Barassi.
TBH I don't think Lake knows just what he wants or who he is.
He has been offered $1.8 mil over 4 years at the Bullies. What more could he want?

Brian Lake changed his name because he used his step fathers name as a child but reverted to his real dads name in his 20's , like I did when I was 16.
so I believe he knows and wants to be.
And yes we should target him.

And thank christ the season's over now I dont have to see the likes of Corrie,Stanley,Cook hopefully in our jumpers again.

Ive also would like to put Cloke on the table he is still young full of promise and his credits are still high but one more year like this year then his credits will have dwindled and we might not get a high draft pick for him. If he stays great because I believe he is a potential superstar, and for christ sake collingwood employ a full time goalkicking coach we have just seen what happens if you cant convert in the big one and our forwards have been average bar Anthony

taylor walker has there been any more news on him i remember a while back there was a report that collingwood was trying to get him over?

And seeing that Mark Thompson has declared that there will be players getting traded due to the salary cap, Is there any player from geelongs list that really isnt getting much of a go that collingwood would be interested in. I think we might have a look at trent west and i wouldnt mind as making a move for josh hunt.

Garry Lyon wrote an article about this about two weeks ago here, and I agree absolutely with it.

Apparently Malthosue does not believe in kicking coaches, and I can kind of understand why, it's insane to think that a professional footballer who earns 6 figures a year from playing the game needs to be coached in something so basic and fundamental, but anything to get them kicking straight.

There's the absolute perfect Goalkicking coach just waiting to be offered a job, and his name is Matthew Llyod.

Llyod has said he doesn't want a full time coaching position, but would listen to any offer for a "specialist role".

Surely we should knock on his door, he went from an average kick as a kid to being the most consistent goal kicker in the game.

Get Llyod now.

stupid comments made by stupid people.....

your calling me stupid, you must be some 15 yo who hasnt a clue on how the football world works.
if you read it right and have any intelligence at all you might not have opened your mouth before you thought about it.
You will never get a good trade done with average players, spend high to buy high.
the club is bigger than any player and the cup is the main goal.
