Revising the top ten of the 2012 afl draft.

If the draft is to be held today
1. Daniher
2. Wines
3. Grundy
4. Stringer
5. Macrae
6. Whitfield
7-10 are all whatever. Similar players with unproven talent

Agree that there is a clear top 6 then a fair drop off. My order:

1. Wines
2. Daniher
3. Whitfield
4. Stringer
5. Grundy
6. Macrae

Top four will be genuine matchwinners for a long time, next two very good players who could push AA selection on a decent year.

Viney just looks like a small goer to me. Not overly clean or smart with the footy. All heart, so there's a place in the game for that, but not in the same conversation as Macrae.
Eh, I'd have similar thoughts about Macraw. Wins a lot of the ball but unless it's his day he doesn't really do much with it in the way of hurting the opposition. Big tackle numbers too, but his tackling and defensive work don't have an impact like Viney's does.

Rest my case then. Cross would be not even close to the top 5 then. cheers for the research though.

What does Daniel Cross have to do with anything?

And if you asked any coach in the league if they'd rather Viney or Stringer, every one of them would choose the latter.
