This week we tackle the 11th place West Coast Eagles. Prior to the season kicking off many on this board would have viewed this as an easy game. But who would have thought that out season would implode in such a way? So here we are, up against another middle of the road team - West Coast Eagles.

The Eagles have there fair share of issues as well. Coaching personnel changes earlier in the season and adopting a new game plan, the failure of Sharrod Wellingham, the perceived lack of progress with Nic Nat and the 3rd and 4th quarter fadeouts. Nonetheless, WCE fielded a younger team last week and won by a small margin against a similar young team Brisbane.

Richmond on the other hand finished off what seems to be the reincarnation of a Matthew Knight coached Essendon team, a fast speedy team that is slowly losing steam at the latter end of the year. It was possibly the best win of the year. A win that was similar to a 2013 team.

Last time we met, we pumped them hard at Paterson Stadium - a comprehensive victory at their fortress. A decent 41 points victory that saw us move into the top 8 in 2013.

Injury List

Richmond - Conca, Grigg, Lennon, McIntosh, Petterd, King, Jackson and Astbury.
West Coast Eagle - Barass, Powell, Rosa, Waters, Selwood, Yeo, Colledge & Brown

Jackson has a sore bum and Pettered has an injured finger.

So how do we win?

When we have the ball we have to be quick, agile and accurate with our ball movement and give the likes of Jack, Vickery and Martin the opportunity to compete in as many 1-1 contests as possible. Martin is an absolute bull and I strongly believe he is an integral part of the forward line, even as a rested forward.

In the midfield our guys need to be prepared to work twice as hard and just as efficient when we don't have the ball as when we do have it. If our midfielders don't push back hard we're going to see our backline under pressure constantly. When we do have the ball we need to run and spread and slice up the West Coast Eagle midfielders and make them accountable rather than just letting them zone off and take up space in front of our forwards.

Our defenders will need to be on the ball to be ready to tackle the West Coast forwards, more particularly, Kennedy (if he is playing). Rance has been in form and Chaplain, in the past 2-3 rounds have played excellent football. Our defenders have been defending well and it will be fantastic to see how we will go.

Either way, we are here to spoil Cox's farewell party by giving the Eagles a good old thrashing.

Richmond by 20 points.

Jackson and Petterd to miss. Conca - test.

So annoying, ive actually liked petterds work the past few weeks, and jackson is an animal

Nathan Gordon
1 goal, 27 disposals (13 contested), 4 inside 50sPlayed on a wing and through half forward. The most pleasing part of his game was his contested work, which is an area we’ve been working on. Kicked an important goal to put us in front. Good run and carry all day.

Matt McDonough
22 disposals (13 contested), 7 clearances, 11 tacklesCame into the midfield and won the contested ball. He competed hard all day inside, which is what we expect him to do. We really needed someone to step up in the middle and he did that. Excellent ball use by foot.

look what Saints produced for Lenny.....
any milestones for us?

Reckon you get good odds that they all do.

I think Matty Thomas and Matt McDonough will come in for Jacko and Ricky..maybe (dare I say it) if Grigg is fit he'll come in instead of McDonough. However, wouldn't mind seeing Nathan Gordon coming up given he had a real return to form on the weekend from all reports. Think the Subiaco ground is perfect for his running ability too.. In saying that, Lloydy keeps his spot 110%
