Interesting point mouth. The league doesn't have to intercept it as such because as part of the finals eligibility you don't have to take to the field. However you must be in full club uniform and be on the bench for the game to qualify. If he has been sitting on the bench in the 2's then it counts. If his name was on the team sheet but he wasn't on the bench then it doesn't count.
I think that's been changed now to stop that happening. You need 4 Senior YV games if you're dropping back from the VFL. I don't think "any" club games counts anymore..

48.1 In order to qualify for Senior Grade finals matches, a player must have played in at least four (4) matches with his club during the home and away series of matches.
48.2 In order to qualify for Reserves Grade finals matches, a player must have played in at least four (4) matches with his club’s Reserves Grade, Veterans or Under 18’s team, and not more than ten (10) matches with his club’s Senior Grade during the home and away series of matches
Was he on the bench changed?
48.6 For the purposes of eligibility, an interchange player/s shall be deemed to have competed, whether or not he has taken the field during the match for which he was named as interchange. An interchange player must be in football uniform and on the clubs interchange bench during the match
By the way who is he anyway, I see he was cleared in February from ROC

Wouldn't know the bloke if I fell over him but was named on thier Ressies Team Sheet against us last Saturday-whether he was there or not I wouldn't know and neither would any of our players or coaching staff
