Hrmm I put a sneaky tenner on Brisbane yesterday paying $6.40.

How did Lewis Taylor fall so far?

He was still a mid-second round pick, despite being 173cm tall, breaking his foot late last year, and testing poorly (most likely due to still recovering from injury) at the draft camp. Brisbane selected three other players before him in the same draft too.

He's actually a horrible player, the Pies should have traded him out two years ago when he still had some cred from 2010 left.

He goes okay as a bottom 6 player when the other 16 are taking the heat off.

When he has to elevate to a top 10 on the field, he's simply not capable.

Interesting contrast between tonight and last night.

Two teams ravaged by injury.

One loses by just one goal to a top 2 team and a team that has won multiple flags in recent years.

The other gets flogged by a bottom six team recently ravaged by 100 points in horrendous heat just six days before.

Because the other team lost their top 5 players in 24 hours...

Been happening for decades... it's called the Wobbles!

I love how whenever Collingwood lose to a s**t team, Dwayne falls over himself to list every single player on their list with an injury, as if THAT's the only reason they're losing the game. Never mind the fact that Brisbane have lost like a dozen players to season ending injuries throughout the year themselves...

So you've had your two best forwards (Cloke, Elliot), two best midfielders and Captain (Pendlebury, Beams) and a former All-Australian CHB (Reid) all out on the day of the game or during the game, and have been down to one fit player on the bench half way through the 3rd quarter, 6 days after a Perth trip, have you?

Sure, Brisbane have been good, but to act like all that's not a major, major factor in the result that we're seeing here (both physically and mentally) is silly.

Brisbane aren't anywhere near as bad as the footy public would have you believe and what their ladder position suggests. Have a great young midfield coming through and are beginning to develop some exciting kids. Certain they'll rise in the very near future, particularly if they can nab themselves a solid KPF or two.
Collingwood have their issues, but the Lions aren't being given enough credit tonight.
