Lake obviously out. Poppy with a cloud over him.

North have a few talls so Schoenmakers has to be looked at. Possibly even Heatherly.

Box Hill boys, over to you. Put your hand up.

Would think that if an extra tall is needed for North Melbourne, Litherland would come in before Heatherly, who is very raw. Litherland is at least 193cm (from memory) even if he isn't a traditional key defender. Either that or Hawthorn brings in an extra midfielder to try to up the midfield rotations and run North Melbourne off their feet.

Would rather go in with Gibbo & Stratton as the Talls & add another runner than bring in shoey.

Teams have worked us out with our inside 50 ball movement/use....Similarly our stoppages & clearance work need a serious re-gigging.

Murdered in the coaches box again tonite....Lets hope it doesn' happen again next week Mr Clarkson!

Our ability to respect the opposition by shutting down & negating their strengths & exposing their weaknesses is non-existent.

Our coaching box has become predictable & one Dimensional with both Tird & Hinkley taking advantage of it!

INS: Anderson, Litherland & some decent op-positional analysis/respect.
Out: Pop & Lake & piss-poor, one dimensional coaching from the box.

In: Schoenmakers, Litherland, Anderson(if Poppy isn't available), Sicicly(if Mitchell isn't available).

Out: Suckling, Lake, Poppy(if injured), Mitchell(if injured).

Anyone know what the story is with the management of shoenmakers? Not one nab cup game, missed box hill's first game yet picked as an emergency every week. Did he travel tonight or is he playing tomorrow? Now we may need to call on him he hasn't played a game since the vfl grannie.

Would it be overdoing it to target Rance for next year?
Shoey will do fine with maybe Litherland as well there is plenty of run in them and enough height as well.
Petrie and Waite are more leading types but they can mark. We just need to push to the middle back and force them wide.

Coming up against a side that often troubles us, before what should be a couple of easier games against GWS and then Melbourne. If we can get over the Roos, the following few weeks should give Frawley, Lake, Spang and any sore blokes a good chance to heal up.

Am personally hoping the Cats match tomorrow is a tough match physically, for obvious reasons. Goldstein is in ripping form and Ceggles+Macca will have their work cut out in the centre. Petrie, Waite and that little diving campaigner up forward are all capable of kicking tallies.

Hopefully Rough bounces back and starts clunking a few marks as tonight wasn't a good one for him.

Getting his currency up for a trade at the end of the year

Ins: Shoenmakers, Sheils, Sicily*, Anderson*
Outs: Lake, Puopolo, Rioli*, Mitchell*

*=Injury permitting

B: Stratton, Schoenmakers, Duryea

HB: Birchall, Gibson, Hodge

C: Hill, Sheils, Smith

HF: Whitecross, Gunston, Breust

F: Anderson*, Roughead, Langford

R: Ceglar, Lewis, Burgoyne

INT: Hartung, McEvoy, Suckling, Sicily*

Let's talk decisions:

1. Shoenmakers for Lake: It must be sad to realise that if Shoey was traded during the trade period we'd have to elevate Heatherly and play him in a key position. With all other options exhausted Shoenmakers will suddenly find himself under immense pressure next week.

2. Sheils for Puopolo: With Sheils set to come back, Poppy's injury will probably keep him out for a week.

3. Sicily for Rioli (Injury permitting): Few comments that Rioli was proppy after the game. If it's anything connected to the hamstring, do not even think about playing him. Sicily brings a little X-Factor as well.

4. Mitchell for Anderson (Injury permitting): Mitchell was limping off the ground. At his age, even the most minute of injuries can develop into something serious. Hopefully it's just cramp/soreness and nothing serious.

Sneaky feeling (players who may get an unexpected call-up).

1. Sam Grimley: The forgotten forward. With Brand injured for 6 months, we can elevate a rookie. Roughead needed genuine support in the forward line tonight (as he did in the Essendon game), and our pressing need to play Shoey in the backline removes him from that role. If Grimley kicks another bag in the VFL, the 200cm 98kg talented albeit lazy forward could get a surprise nod.
2. Angus Litherland: Gus is tall, fast and able to play on both short and tall. With North's tall forward-line, we may need some extra height in the backline and Gus is probably our only option instead of Heatherly (who will probably be ready next year).
3. Daniel Howe: The kid's VFL game was extremely impressive. He kicked two goals, collected 21 disposals, went hard at the ball and played in all roles (forward, midfield, backline). Another showing like that and he could make an appearance.

Is he gonna be fit for next week, thought he needed a week or 2 longer. If he is available that is a massive in.

Highly doubtful....Caution with hammy's is now the way.

We are going to have a tough time controlling both of Petrie & Waite in the air!...3 key defenders down is a real nightmare!
