As someone who was at the game, supporting Parramatta, my take on it is that it was'nt the referees who threw two intercept passes.
Re: The obstruction. My take on it is that the ref had a "feel" for what was going on out on the field.He felt, as did a lot of the 50,000 there, was that it was a "dive" worthy of the premier league. But, given the criticism, he felt he had to send it upstairs. And said he felt it was a try.
The video ref does'nt have a "feel" for what happened.He's not privy to whether other Tigers told him to stay down, fall down etc.He just sees what's on the screen, sees a defender collide with a decoy and fall down. So he says "no try".
I can see both sides of the argument. My instinct was that it was ok, but I'm biased.
