Hear that Marshy has pulled the pin due to continual personal abuse from a Club President. Any news on this ManInWhite? Marshy is certainly one of the best going around be a shame to see him go as a result of one guys disgracful behaviour.

Interesting. I was watching valley vision of one of the Round 1 games and noticed a free kick given away against a supporter of one of the teams. It was in a pocket and very close to the fence. Seemed very odd at the time. Didnt think you could give away a free due to a supporter. I have seen them given away from the coaches box. Does that also extend to club officials? I wonder if that is the said person?

My information a little different than fingers, (not unusual), I heard that Marsh did stop the game and talk to a supporter (who is a President), and then recalled kick so not a new free, and then threatened to not restart game after 1/2 time unless spectator left. Marsh was subsequently suspended for 1 week by umpires for his behavior.

I also understand the umpires have since been told to not get involved with any spectators, they obviously can penalize a team official - coach, team manager, runner etc.

The "disgraceful" act was that said spectator had the temerity to actually questioned a decision, no swearing, no abuse, and no raised voice, just a question, the actual words I am told were "Warwick you must be joking" The goal umpire who was 5 meters away did not even hear it so not loud either.

No doubt Marsh could umpire when he didn't get involved on the other side of the fence, but unfortunately he has a history of doing just that, time and time again, and against just about all clubs.

You will always want to believe your story regardless, no use discussing any further - maybe you could explain the Leagues response by them suspending Marsh????? and not President

If I was a betting man Id say the President and club probably have more pull than Marsh. No need for personal abuse.

You keep saying personal abuse, I have told you what was said, if that is the abuse the case rests unless you can add some more detail, remember there are libel laws even on forums so you had better be accurate.

Not prepared to reveal anymore than your source, what were the actual words used, I have told you what I know them to be, Finger as usual light on fact and high on innuendo.

Don't bother answering with any more of your rubbish.

I take it you are the said President? I have heard plenty of stuff yelled over the fence at umpires Marshy included never has he or any other umpire threatened to stop a game. Don't blame him if its ongoing and personal.

Another huge leap, I am just a supporter, so no cigar. I have personally seen Marsh do it to another supporter, I am still waiting for your explanation of personal, I suppose I will just have to wait for you to make it up.

Marsh said it was personal and it was on going. Seems the president has an issue with him and Marsh was finally fed up.

Don't blame him. I heard plenty of abuse on Saturday. Personal, accusations of cheating, threats and so on. ALL day. Ugly stuff. We don't have escorts now for no reason.
I don't know why we have any umpires left. Spectators have open slather, secure with their mates and behind a fence, but the umps are supposed to wear it.
Give them a break, let them do their job and stfu.

Not a great look coming from a club president. Wonder if the club has taken action?

I assume you are talking about the same incident guru? What was your thoughts on the actual decision? Aside from the fact is was a supporter, it looked like team A had cleared it from the back pocket too the wing area. Umpire then paid a free kick against Team B official only for the ball to be recalled to the back pocket again. Surely if a free kick should have been awarded it was where the ball ended up on the wing. I think the umpire should have let the play go and if he had an issue make an incident report after the game

Any danger we could simply talk footy? Start a new thread to reflect on petty fence talk from 2 weeks ago

Judging on results, upwey went bang, and from my vantage point the kennel just managed a win - the gelling still some weeks away!

Upwey played well, but it is a long season, and it is about continuing ongoing form. Last Year Upwey were thrashed by Healesville, who ended up relegated and Upwey played off in finals. Sometimes you just seem to have a day out.

I still think it is going to be close all season, and it will take most of the season to work it all out.
