He'll go to the Dees IMO. Can't see many clubs taking the risk though, the game's gone past him massively.

Dees does seem to be the destination these days, with players like Cross heading there. I think he could still get a good 2-3 years out of himself, baring any serious injuries to knees/shoulders.

Anyone that knows Rhino will know how meticulous & fanatical he is with his health & fitness. He may be 34 but the way he has taken good care of himself is amazing & he is in better shape than many 29 year olds running around.
Unfortunately Horse has gone with some of the younger similar type players.

34 is just to old to pick someone up, no one will draft him, he might be fit but geez 34 is like 84 in AFL years.

D Fletcher is like 110, received the letter from the queen years ago and now is aiming for the record of the oldest in the world.

Would you knock back Brent Harvey for 2015 based on his current form?

Yes, but only because of where we're at in a rebuilding phase, if I was a contending team then no you pick Harvey every day of the week but Harvey is easily best 22 in every team but O"Keefe on the other hand looks far like the games gone past him and at 34 why would you, at that age you need to be playing solid footy in the AFL or your no chance.

Good points. Wouldnt be surprised to see him just do the generic "Move to GWS and then into coaching" role that has also been a popular option, assuming he doesnt want to go to Melbourne.

That's the crux. Harvey is arguably in career best form and will make the AA team. O'Keefe on the other hand has only played 4 senior games this year, each of them a stinker. He's just too slow and even just plodding along in the NEAFL.

O'Keefe is cooked, avoid at all costs.

Ryan should retire gracefully, been a really great player but clearly cooked. He went one season too many this year, if he went again it would just get uglier. His NEAFL stats are irrelevant as that competition is a joke.

He is 33 not 34 for starters - he turns 34 before the commencement of next season. And his poor form at AFL level this year would be most likely be attributed to the fact that he was played out of position as a forward.

Can see him going to Melbourne on a two-year contract similar to Podsiadly at Adelaide; play one year and then work as an assistant coach the next year if his body is not up to playing another year. Melbourne could use another mature body through the midfield, not sure that his output will be all that high but he would be a good figure to have around a young club due to his professionalism.

He has been playing in the NEAFL and getting a lot of possessions despite a lot of opposition attention. I think there may be some truth to the him not liking the addition of Buddy story. However the Swans have gone for more speed and others have gone past him. Melbourne seems the logical fit.

Big fall from grace this year for ROK. Without reading too much about it, seems the Swans have just decided to phase him out whilst still having him there as back up should s**t hit the fan with injuries or form of others. Seems like he may have gone one too many from the outside, so very interesting to hear that he is looking to play on. His body is obviously going alright based on some Swans posters, maybe has just lost that pace and full game impact that the AFL game and/or Sydney demands now. Can't see too many being that interested really but who knows, maybe Essendon might need a stop gap if their ASADA s**t hits the fan? Daniel Cross Mk. II at Melbourne? Would he move to Perth or even add anything to Freo? Dunno, think he might be knackered, if anything maybe GWS...

Freo need some depth while their premiership window is open
Waste of time and space. Sylvia was baffling, not young and not good enough and quite obviously not willing to put in, why would Freo get a 34 year old when the midfield is struggling to fit in De Boer, Clancee Pearce, Morabito...

I don't know why he'd even bother. He's won two flags and has a pretty good reputation. If he wants 300 games he'll have to play for a whole season, and that's not even going to happen if he has four to do it in. Why have your last memories of AFL as getting flogged at GWS or being a 'mentor' at the Dees?

Ryan O'Keefe 'out of position' as a forward. Now I've heard everything.

Last year Jude Bolton played a defensive forward role and a lot of Swans' supporters expected O'Keefe to take that role this year. That was tried to some extent in the first four games but he did not perform. Some think he was a scapegoat for the poor start to the season. With very tall forwards (Buddy, Tippett, Goodes and Reid) any one else picked forward has to be fast, he is not so he can not get a game as a forward. Our other midfielders are better at getting rotated forward providing flexibility that is now required and therefore he can't get a game there either. With our current list there is not a position for him.

Maybe he enjoys playing?

He goes okay in the ressies. It's just we have very good players in the positions where he'd play (inside midfield, basically). Not going to force out Kennedy/Parker/Jack. Doesn't have the disposal to play outside or off the half-back line, and Franklin is basically our hard-running HF, which is where o'Keefe played back before 2010.
