This round sees all four teams outside the eight play another side outside the eight – so these are really 8 point games. Confused yet?
It means that a win here for both teams is vital and another loss would make it very difficult for that side to bridge the gap on the top sides. It makes for an exciting weekend and it’s sure to mean both sides will be fired up for this one.
The Bears re-entered the competition this season but so far, it’s been tough. Losses to the Wonders, Swamprats, Bandits and Warriors see the Bears stone cold last. Worryingly, they are the only club yet to break the 300 Points For mark with Juggalo Balla the only Bear inside the top 35 goalkickers!
They also only have one player inside the top 20 for Disposals – Brown Bottle. This needs to change if they are to turn things around.
The Hawks though are hardly setting the world on fire. They were smashed last week against the Furies and ran out of puff against the Dragons but recorded good wins over the Roys and Royals. They really need to get their hands on the pill – only Dagless has more than 70 disposals for the season and they have no ruckman in the top 10 for hitouts. Tarkyn_24 has done well up forward with limited opportunities as has Karnezis_13 but they really need to find consistency if they hope to push up the ladder.
A tough one to pick. If the Bears can recapture their pre-season form, they are a side to be reckoned with – especially if pantskyle can dominate the ruck. If the right Hawks outfit turns up, they win. It’s a flip of the coin job but I’m tipping the Bears at home to break their drought by 26 points.
Good luck to both sides and make sure your captains name an ‘Official Team Sheet’ and tag Logger before 23:59 this Friday.
