EXCLUSIVE: SANDY Roberts has walked out on Channel 7 after 34 years as a broadcaster to sign on with Fox Footy.
In the latest development in TV's news wars, the Herald Sun understands the Seven stalwart has been poached to call games and host programs on the football-only station.

Good host, used like him calling games, but IMO needs the right partner, if he's to co-call.
Always felt he worked better with a more laidback caller (eg Cometti, Morphett), than a full on guy like McAveney.

There will be people who hate this- but I am a happy to have him back. Reminds me of the days when we made Grand Finals. Lets hope Brad Dick gets plenty of games.

Huge fan of the Sandy Roberts commentary style. Also makes a great host of specials and things too without coming across like Eddie. Pair him up with Dennis Commetti and you've got one of the best pairs in the box. On the downside it means FTA will get more Basil Zempilas *shudder*
