Not the Port Adelaide you support, they were 1996.

Port Magpies applied for the licence and were promised it eventually, the first Power team was all Magpie premiership players from the year before and the off field leadership was too. The facilities, the fans (Port Magpie fans numbered about 3 times more than any other individual SANFL club). This whole they are not the same argument is purported by the SANFL because they originally held Ports licence and thought that allowed them to change history. Why do you think SANFL people like Graham Cornes hates Port so much yet is a parochial South Australian, it's because the Power is still the club that he hated all those years before the AFL.
