Note that Waller has gone a similar route with Silverball as he did He's Your Man to an Epsom victory last spring.

One could argue that HYM was clearly more talented than Silverball but i like the prep of a couple 2000m runs then drop back to fast run 1600m. I took some of the $11 on offer yesterday.

I would have been super keen on Magic Hurricane had O'Shea gone the Epsom path instead of the Metrop.

Early morning rant

American horse names are so ****ed

How can they let you pronounce "Au D Lox Bluegrass" as "Goldilocks Bluegrass"? I didnt know what horse they were talking about til the race was over. Just let you slip periodic table elements into names over there...

If i was rich i would buy a horse there and name it Lady Ga Ga and tell them i want it pronounced "Lanthanum dysprosium gallium gallium" just to show them how stupid they are

End rant and time to get my coffee to take away the grumps <3

Heard similar things about Amralah, apparently they have got him right now, could be the horse of the spring.

* me we have gone into hype overdrive in the last 48 hours!

He was just an ok horse in Europe nothing more - there are panels better internationals coming down this spring.

I'm happy to lay him for a place on Sunday given he has been awful 2 out of 3 in oz.

Even in this ordinary field surely not classy enough. Has been beating up B-grade plodders looking for further.

Giving weight (4kgs) to Magic Hurricane in a 1/2 head defeat? Do you even look at form?

Mark Newnham, representing trainer Mrs Gai Waterhouse, has reported to Stewards that KIMBERLEY STAR, which is an acceptor in Race 8 at Royal Randwick on Saturday 3 October 2015, slipped over at the stables on Wednesday (30/9/15) and suffered superficial abrasions to the near side fetlock and knee.

Mr Newnham advised that there was no swelling to the fetlock or knee areas and that KIMBERLEY STAR had not been treated. KIMBERLEY STAR worked on Thursday and has been passed fit to start by the stable veterinarian.

KIMBERLEY STAR will be inspected by the clubs veterinary officer upon arrival on course on Saturday.

Mark Riley's 3 year suspension overturned.

Terry Bailey would be a happy man, the appeals court door will be copping a decent work out over the next few months.

No way Silverball has enough brilliance to justify that quote. Many others at higher prices are better bets for mine.

Going to be a rough weekend for me, all big bets are probably going to start in the red. As a side note and I haven't backed it, Kia Ora Koutou has booked a flight for the VRC derby after its run this weekend. Will fly over if all goes to plan.

And i never said anyone should back it, I'm glad to see the market agreeing with me though (I'm glad to see Paris disagreeing with me going off his feature race success so far this spring also :D). It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when i have a horse running nowhere on the weekend with some overs aboard.

He wont be the only one i back in the race just for y'all info either.

And in a sensational twist, both the VCAT and RADB decisions were overturned by Justice Bell on Thursday, who determined an error of law because of an issue with the rounding up of data from a laboratory.

The Court heard that the two initial readings given by the two laboratories, RASL and RSC, were 37.1mmol/L and 36.1 mmol/L respectively.

But the application of a 1mmol/L measurement uncertainty meant that only the RASL test could be viewed as being above the maximum level.

It was later confirmed that the RASL sample was rounded up from 37.061 and Riley’s counsel successfully argued that there was nothing in the RVL rules which allowed for samples to be rounded up and in fact, the sample should have been confirmed at 37.0 mmol/L.

With the 1mmol/L measurement uncertainty, the sample falls to 36.0, legally within the threshold, which means no breach had taken place.
Never read/heard Riley once deny treating the horse, just that he was pleased with the result. Anyone think he's innocent? Nope. Just can't prove it. Welcome to Racing

Not getting carried away with Amralah.
Just think in a fairly average race with no pace, his last effort & pattern puts him right in it

Hong Kong today

Sha Tin

R7- Amber Sky
R9- Dundonnell

In race 10 Looks Like The Cat having it's 2nd start in HK while San Nicasio (ex Peter Moody) having its 1st start in HK.

San Nicasio trialled ok and I think it's a nice EW chance at $19/$4.80

Not getting carried away with Amralah.

my rather large bet on him begs to differ.

Does anyone know where you can watch HK coverage like TVN used to show? (pre-race, yard, race, post-race)
