You all knew it was coming......

:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Just have to give Kersto a plug after a great first out performance in a losing side.
Bloke can play and as we saw tonight has the skills and footy nous about him to make it.

Kicked 3 on debut and slots one with the first kick. Some good defensive chases early but tired near the end - to be expected.

Im not saying he will be the answer to all the prayers but he will go out each week , try his best and take some heat off Hawkins. Looking forward to getting more games into him.

Of course, as it was Game #1, there will be ups and dowsn too. Lots of them. Just keep with him peeps and the rewards will be there down the track...

Top effort Shane!

He looks pretty fast to.
Bundy said on KROCK last week Shane is one of the fastest over 10m at club. Murda then him, Mots etc.

That is elite short burst speed.....

And yes, his defensive efforts, which were an object for improvement early on, I thought were good.

Again, he still needs work but the kid can out and out just play footy...

Very encouraging performance, looks to be able to lead up at the kicker and double back. Loved his tackling as well.

The big area of improvement is his recovery when the ball hits the ground, if he can win the ball at ground level as well then he will become a far more dangerous player.

I think he is clearly our best key forward prospect.

With Kersten's ability to cause the reaction in our esteemed poster of having "firm jocks", jocks on his head, and going "Ken Bruce" all in a half of footy (yeah, I read through the game day thread dazbroncos ;):D), he deserves a toast thread.

Was a very solid debut, and as others have said, looks to be our best forward option to support Hawkins. Looking forward to watching his development :thumbsu:.

7 marks is impressive and the 4 tackles are a great sign for a guy that will never be a true KPF.

Here's to hoping he can be the foil for Hawk that we really need.

Great that he lived up to the hype. He out produced what I thought might happen. It was a fine debut.

Please then keep playing him - even when he has a bad day - and that will happen.

GFC have made some strange decisions given they said they were going for Premiership in 2015.

Did not play GHS often enough last year. Have not got Thurlow more senior games. Rested Simpson after a good game. Played Smedts in the wrong position. Given players like Varcoe and THunt games when they should have been in the VFL (last season). Those games could have been given to youngsters.

So let's hope that GFC bite the bullet and get games into Kersten (and Bews and Thurlow).
