Shark attacks - do you fear the water now or business as usual

The fact they made Burke the leader of the expedition (temper temper) made it doomed from the start, then the decision making got progressively worse from there.
We do have a wonderful history of celebrating failure (Burke & Wills, Gallipoli, supporting Scott in Antarctica as a representative of the old country)
You can add Ned Kelly to our iconic f*** ups too.

I've heard 4.5m reached between 7 and 11yrs..

Really?

Male great whites mature at 3.5-4.1 m in length and 9 to 10 years of age; females mature at 4-5 m and 14 to 16 years. Great whites' lifespans are believed to be more than 30 years.

There is no increase of white sharks off the western Australian coast. At one point hundreds and hundreds of big girls use to swim to Bremer canyon and the Eyre peninsular/ great Australian bight. Down to a few dozen or so now.

Burke, and Wills are easily my favourite colonial idiots. How they managed to perish alongside Cullyamurra waterhole is beyond me.

Blacks had been crossing this land for thousands of years. Pommies really are pathetic explorers. Look at the idiot Sturt who got lost on the Murray, Blacks were rowing canoos down that river for thousands of years, lol. And someone named a football team after him, lol.

John King let himself be helped by the local black fellas, he was the only one who survived.

I have no interest in trawling the net to find a jouranl paper that disagrees with age/growth rates, so you can chalk that one up as a win to you. Yay!

As for numbers off WA, yeah, nah. Numbers building since culling was outlawed. Hardly rocket surgery.

Insert Sooz logic responses here:

Sturt was good but he was no Strzelecki

The stupid thing about sturt is, the Murray river has always been the biggest food bowl on this continent and he run out of food.

Its gets even sillier, they named a university after this incompetent fool.

How does one define a 'half okay' beach?

Because yeah, I'd exclude the Bay from that but there is plenty of good stuff in either direction once you leave the Heads.

SA is the universal barometer for all topics discussed on big footy,

If he hasn't been there, done that and wrote the book, then he sure as s**t knows someone who has.

His musings will be archived into BF history under the section headed " confused and alone in Fitzroy "

Ha! Australian Crawl sing about two of those three things in Reckless

"Feel like Scott of the Antarctic
Base camp too far away
Russian sub beneath the Arctic
Burke and Wills and camels
Initials in the tree"
