Simon White Charged With Assault

Sadly, this says a lot more about Carlton supporters at the moment than anything else.

There are a big chunk of self-entitled losers out there at the moment who are putting their own hurt feelings above the club.

They cannot stand a team that does not win enough games so instead of helping the club to rise they carp and whine and denigrate and in the end perpetuate the decay.

A Carlton supporter abusing and filming a bit player and then taking them to court says a lot about one of the major problems our club has in the near future.

Some of our "supporters".

Sad, but very true.

Guess you'd have to be there to know what was done in provocation. It's not really an excuse to assault a bloke but seriously people need to pull their heads in.

Simon White is a long long way down the list of problems Carlton have. He wasn't the one who recruited himself and all the other C graders on that list.

The term "assault" is so loose these days. What did he ACTUALLY do? Throw a drink at him? King hit him? Accidently step on his shoe?

So many possiblities.

The term usually captures what is technically both assault and battery.

Assault is the apprehension of a physical violence or potential harm. Not necessarily fear, but a reasonable expectation that harm may be coming one's way.

Battery, is the physical contact that actually occurs. So if you punch someone, you're charged with assault and battery. However, if you king hit someone (or they aren't aware of the punch coming) that would technically just be battery.
