Only saw the incident. Didn't watch the game. Saw Stevie J in his usual cocky smug attitude get embarrassed and then saw the scoreline. Put two and two together. So you look at 1 isolated incident instead of the whole game?
This always irks me when they count steps , as you said it is 15 metres and the average step when running is around 2 metres so the commentators need to sort themselves out . F..kin idiots .The rule is fifteen metres not fifteen steps. Motlop clearly ran at least 17m
Yeh nice, 'put 2 and 2 together' by watching 1 incident.Only saw the incident. Didn't watch the game. Saw Stevie J in his usual cocky smug attitude get embarrassed and then saw the scoreline. Put two and two together.
But he missed that one by acting like a tosser and cost them 4 points.Yeh nice, 'put 2 and 2 together' by watching 1 incident.
Stevie also had 18 disposals and 4 goals.
If you're going to be a smart arse then get it right. But he missed that one by acting like a tosser and cost them 4 points.
One of the Scott brothers blaming umpires again, surely not
How did he act like a tosser? He thought he was in the clear and got chased down. But he missed that one by acting like a tosser and cost them 4 points.
Also the umpires were very kind to Geelong once again ! they get the love .
Trouble is that the Cats keep recruiting now as if they are in a GF window which they no longer are.
The last several seasons has seen a lot of old blood gained rather than young blood, and looks like the Cats will do this again at the end of this year.
This is just staving off the decline, rather than actually rebuilding.
Plus you now have a lot of old players who are all mainly now passed it, and who are only going to get worse.
Clearly not so. You must be new to the game. The final siren went 2 + quarters later. There were heaps of opportunities for either team to win the game for well over an hour after that incident. But he missed that one by acting like a tosser and cost them 4 points.
Just like Riewoldt a few years ago...How did he act like a tosser? He thought he was in the clear and got chased down.
Interesting, but likely an accurate analysis of Geelong's situation.Interesting analysis form a St.Kilda fan whose team plummeted right out the window very quickly. The Saints have still only won 6 games and are 10 points away from 12th in a competition with some of the worst teams on record below them. Melbourne, Gold Coast, Carlton, Essendon and Brisbane must surely be the worst bottom five sides in history, all of them would be worthy wooden spoon recipients. The Saints are heading in the right direction, but don't get too carried away there are some deplorable sides just below you. The Cats are middle table and will have that middle table inconsistency for a couple of seasons while they make the transition. They had good wins against the Dogs, Swans and GWS, but now and again they will look flat and out run. The Saints are also battling consistency, last week's first half against North highlighted the fact that they would be no pushover. I don't care if Geelong make the finals or not, i don't believe in a final 8 anymore, it's just a money making exercise for the AFL. We should revert to a final four, it 's what we end up with anyway!
Nick or Jack? I can't remember any times Jack did the same?Just like Riewoldt a few years ago...
You must be unfamiliar with the English language. What do you mean 'if'. You didnt. So you dont.
Not sure I agree actually. While there have been some mistakes, the general approach has been covering obvious gaps while the team transitions to a younger line up. Most people seem to miss the fact that Geelong has been playing a lot of young and inexperienced players all year.Trouble is that the Cats keep recruiting now as if they are in a GF window which they no longer are.

Crows fans always seem to think this. Give us back Leigh Colbert's mark and we'll talk. Also the umpires were very kind to Geelong once again ! they get the love .

You still have some rippers playing - Guthrie had a great game; showed hardness and classSome of the first and second year players are starting to do a lot less, which suggests that their bodies need a rest. Gregson looks like he has a lot less run than earlier in the season. Has done hugely for an 18 year old who wasn't a top draft pick though. Pretty hard for most players to play a full season in their first or second year. Not sure what that means for finals, because a few have become core parts of the team.
Plummeted? We went from a grand final, elimination final, 9th then 3rd last.Interesting analysis form a St.Kilda fan whose team plummeted right out the window very quickly. Yep it is what is needed for both teams; Saints had Billings, Sinclair, Lonie, Longer and McCartin all not playing and that is the discussion now as well as how good it would be with Armitage receiving some of Holmes' work. Duncan /Murdoch/ Guthrie and Kolo... along with others are what it is aboutYeah, Guthrie's been in great form and just turned 23, so still a lot of room to get better and stronger. He was our best last week against Hawthorn too.
The guys in that age group will be coming into their prime in the next few years and are becoming our key players. For example, many Geelong supporters believe we are a different team with/without Duncan these days, even more so than with Selwood, Johnson, Bartel, etc.
