The word is that we can't make profit, staggering with our attendances.

Kochie is demanding a profit so I guess we will be capitalising as much as we can to get over the line.

Sad, that SANFL are winners financially from AO and we are still scraping the barrel
This should be a scandal given the old guard in the $ANFL have no ammo to throw at us anymore Re crowds etc...

Mind boggling that the mouth breathers down at west lakes don't understand the broader issue here which is if they bleed us and the crows dry and we put on a s**t spectacle that ultimately it will be them who loses out when inevitably crowds fall, revenues fall.

these old carnt's would make the Japanese soldiers from WWII proud with their ability to cling to a long dead empire!

Forgive my scepticism but KT and Kochie have already stated were making a profit. Unless something has changed I'm not sure where you're getting your mail from.

Our financial ended 31st October, so if they have gone to the media we are in the black for the first time then we are in the black unless the auditors find a material transaction that requires the accounts to change.

The simple fact is that only about 5 or 6 clubs make any real profits from just their football operations on a regular basis (see post 71 on page 3 of this thread for Brian Cook's comments to a Senate Inquiry). Most clubs who make a profit year in year out depend on social venues and pokies - except the WA clubs who dont have pokies and dont have large investments in non football businesses.

Knew I had read the only 5 clubs make profit from footy actives well after Cook's statement to the senate. From March 2014 after all 18 clubs' 2013 P&L's were released.North is the only Vic club that has no pokies.

Only five AFL clubs made a profit in 2013 without the assistance of poker machines, according to figures presented to the clubs by the AFL.
....
The five clubs that made a profit without non-football revenue - almost all of which is from poker machine venues - were Collingwood, Richmond, West Coast, Fremantle and North Melbourne. The Kangaroos are the clear outlier from that group of five and, according to the club, made a profit of $1.3 million in 2013 as a result of running a very low-cost operation.

Even Hawthorn, the 2013 premier and one of the game’s most financially robust clubs, had a profit that was assisted by pokie earnings. The Hawks made a healthy profit of $3.1 million in 2013, but they are understood to have earned more than $4 million from their lucrative Waverley Gardens gaming venue, and have plans to earn more from their new Caroline Springs venue........

Was it more crowded earlier in the day. Lots of folks staying in my hotel arent going back due to the cold

Nope. That's as much as has been in the Eastern stand all day.

Southern and Western are much fuller, but not enough to account for these bullshit figures.

This crowd is being reported on the radio as being 47k

They don't even try to not be blatant about it.
6,000 silver spooners at the Village Green behind the western stand getting pissed and socialising and not watching a ball being bowl.

The scanners would have counted how many have come thru the gates during the day not the net of who has left. Remember they got 54k at the BBL and they had all those platforms for the dancing girls.

The village green was crammed. (Even so I would have guessed 38k)

Meanwhile the top of the southern stand sold out of overpriced food (other than chips) about 7pm

Nah the riverbank is shaded. I sit there for footy.
Sat in the eastern upper deck for the elimination final, couldn't bare the sun.
We sit Eastern upper ( towards Northern end) and ALWAYS in the shade. Yet I look over to riverbank and full sun lower areas. Must depend time of year and I guess lower levels both sides at the front have the sun. Western best I guess.

Black Diamond cops horrendous sun during twilight matches. So bad that i've been considering moving since I first sat there, but I can't bring myself to give up the fantastic view. Fair trade, but if I get sick of it I just pop down to the hill and carry on like a porkchop and do my ACL on the uneven surface because it's ******* fun.

I was hoping to move seats to a bit lower down but will be wary of the sun. I would imag9ne the cheersquad would be in full sun every game.

Crude I know, but this is the path the sun takes and approx times of position during Winter. The black line basically traces to where I sit in BD bay 136. The sun disappears behind the western stand by about 5:30-6.

Between 3 and 6, it's awful, especially given how low the sun is in the sky during winter. The western stand cops it quite early, and likely isn't too bad for most typical match scheduling times.

I see what you mean there..guess I might stay where I am..some advantage to sitting higher. I like sitting side on for the footy.

Do we know the digits for PAFCs profit and loss from season 2015 yet?
