News Stadium: The NEW Home of Football in WA

Lol. I was thinking that too. Last time I checked I was still female though, and I'm pretty sure I don't actually have any kids.

And on the subject of hanging out at Burswood, there's been plenty of times I've hung out at Crown before the footy at the MCG or Etihad. And I don't gamble ever. There's always footy fans around there before & after games, and it's a good place to watch away games at the pubs & stuff there too.
Been taken off you after leaving them in the car, I assume.

How is it possible for somebody to be on this board for 10 years, making 10,000 posts and being an absolute knob jockey and I've never heard of them before?

Same here.

Just posting that official figures for infrastucture are $300 million.
...
And I was saying that its an irrelevant number. $300 million was always going to be spent on infrastructure. No matter where the stadium went there aren't any facilities designed for 60k-80k people and wherever it went we would have to upgrade the station. In fact in some places may be more expensive because there is no free and available space to make required changes (point in case the current train infrastructure or lack thereof at Subi)

Consequently mentioning it as a detractor for the current location is a meaningless argument.

Pretty much this

From 2008
http://news.theage.com.au/national/perth-to-get-new-11-billion-stadium-20080208-1r2m.html

Perth is to get a new stadium, at a cost of $1.1 billion and to be completed in 2016, following a long-awaited announcement by West Australian Premier Alan Carpenter.
WA's Sport Minister John Kobelke said the indicative costs of $1.1 billion included the $800 million stadium, and $300 million in associated infrastructure, property acquisition, escalation, transport infrastructure and other costs.

Have you been to Northbridge ever? I could take my kids to the footy and finish the day with watching some drunk 17 year olds spew in the street, punch each other out & abuse the cops for trying to protect them. You're a visionary! I can't understand why they didn't just let you run the whole project.
Northbridge is actually pretty family friendly pre about midnight, when everything turns to pumpkins

Absolute BS. You want families to gamble FFS.
I could break down exactly why there is a great deal wrong with this statement, but instead I've decided to start a savings account specifically so when 2018 does roll around I'll be prepped up to cash up all those gambling kids.

My god, what happened in the last 3 pages of this thread????

One person's phobia of the casino, combined with a warped sense of geography and respective layout of the stadium and casino - seems to have descended into gratuitous accusations of gambling addiction for anyone that supports the Burswood location, or is even not opposed to it.

Don't forget the child neglect.

So I could have been sitting in the new stadium by now.

Sad.
Now it's the start of the 2018 and there's no guarantee of football all being played there as there is no stadium agreement.
Wouldn't that be a laugh - $1.2 billion for weeds to grow on the oval.
Looks like I'll still be having my pre-game feed at the Subiaco markets after all.
Wont be accosted in Northbridge or contributing to Packer's wealth.

I don't think people would be happy if you turn up to their brand new apartments and start tucking into leftovers from the fridge.
