Nice Grb! :)

In the spirit of best of the last 25 years, here's my SA SOO for 1990 onwards. It would give the Vics a good run I reckon -

Jarman Modra S Burgoyne
Pavlich Kernahan Tredrea
Bradley A Jarman Pickett
McLeod Cornes Enright
Hart Lake Wanganeen
Ottens Riccutio Platten
Betts Cooney Rehn Griffen

Unsure if Goodes qualifies for SA

Notable mentions - Gibbs, Goodwin, Roger James, Edwards, Smart, Wilson, Darcy, McDermott.

Cooney gets a guernsey ahead of others with more runs on the board because he's got a leg speed which the team needs. A Jarman gets in for his 5 Fos Williams medals ahead of other more consistent players.

Haven't done a Vic team but unsure if they can match the forward line for star power. Vics should win midfield & defences about even.

Didak deserves a mention. Would pick him over Betts too.

I don't rate Didak that highly.

2010-11 aside not done much imo. Also didn't think he was much of a big game player (like most small forward types). But haven't watched him closely I confess.

2006 was his best year! Was definitely a big game player. Certainly achieved more in his career than Betts has, regardless.

Yeah, Tony Lockett, Gary Ablett Snr., Barry Hall, Matthew Lloyd, Jonathan Brown, Sav Rocca

Star power would be of little concern

I take your point with Lockett, Ablett and Brown. The rest I could take or leave.

Vic team 90-15

Milne Lockett Ablett
B Johnson Brown Aker?
Crawford Williams R Harvey
Goddard Leppitsch Hodge
Scarlett Silvagni
Salmon Ablett Jnr Judd
Grant West Black Bartel

Couldn't think of a small lock down defender. Team is heavily skewed towards recent players as I don't know the Vic side from the 90s as well. Is Aker a Victorian? If not, then swap him for Brent Harvey.

Side is lacking in a bit of pace, maybe Lappin for West or Bartel.

Hall, Lloyd, and Rocca? Over 2400 goals between them. That's pretty serious.

Obviously, you wouldn't play 6 big forwards at once anyway.

Or would I?

Chris Johnson is a small lock down defender that comes to mind. I also like that you haven't included Didak in your SA team because he's not a big game player, but have included Milne in this :) B Harvey >>>> Milne..

True re Milne, big games. Couldn't think of anyone else. I tend to think of B Harvey as a mid, but on 2nd thoughts he's a pretty damn good small forward to have.

Lloyd and Rocca are too one dimensional for mine. Obviously Locket has a lock on FF so those 2 don't fit in mine.

Hall could play on a forward flank, possibly too top heavy.

I'd take SA's CHF line over Vic's. Tredrea Kernahan Pavlich v Hall Brown B Johnson. But you could throw Ablett on the half forward line and shove Lloyd into a forward pocket. I'd rather Lockett and Ablett close to goals and that means Lloyd misses out. Maybe Chris Grant deserves a starting spot on a half forward flank. That would even up the two lines.

Take out Black, bring in A Stevens or Selwood.

C Johnson in back pocket. Yes, he's a gun. Defensive and offensive.
