The Gold Coast SUNS are pleased to confirm that United Petroleum has signed with the club as Coaches’ partner.

The multi-year deal will see United Petroleum branding featured on both the match day and training apparel of Rodney Eade and his team of coaches, as well as branding of the Gold Coast SUNS coaches box and interchange bench at Metricon Stadium.

United Petroleum is an Australian owned petrol company, which specialises in the retail and wholesale fuel markets, convenience stores and ethanol manufacturing.

One of the fastest growing independent companies in the nation, United Petroleum generates employment for more than 2,500 Australians, and is committed to providing premium quality fuel and competitive pricing across the country.

United Petroleum is the recipient of the Canstar Blue “Most Satisfied Customer Award” every year for the last four years.

In welcoming United Petroleum, Gold Coast SUNS Chief Executive, Andrew Travis, said the partnership with United made sense from both a commercial and member advantage viewpoint.

“We are thrilled to have partnered with United Petroleum, in a deal that we believe will deliver positive outcomes for United Petroleum, the club, and importantly, our members, through special offers in the future.

“As a club, we have generated some genuine momentum over the off season, and the announcement of our partnership with United on the eve of the season continues that impetus.

“Over the coming years we are looking forward to working with United to strengthen their brand throughout Queensland, as well as developing even more advantages for becoming a Gold Coast SUNS member,” Travis said.

United Petroleum’s Sponsorships & Partnerships Manager, Heath Scotland said they were intent on establishing a successful partnership with the SUNS.

“United Petroleum is proud to be the Gold Coast SUNS’ coaches’ partner, and we look forward to working with Rodney Eade and his team to build a long and successful association with the Gold Coast Football Club, its members and other business partners.

“This is a great opportunity for United to reinforce and grow our brand in the greater Queensland community in conjunction with the developing Gold Coast SUNS and their membership base,” Scotland said.

Thanks mate - Great write up

Love the application to defence Malceski will bring. We know we have enough points in us to win games, but now we have the added defensive focus to shut teams out as well...

Anyone watch footy classified last night new segment at the end of the show called put that one in the vault (basically something that's guaranteed to happen in the 2015/16 Season) Garry Lyon's was that a Big name gold coast suns player will be playing for a Melbourne based club next year. Said he had it on good authority because Dion Prestia told him so haha.

Do you guys think Melbourne have offered him a huge contact that he just can't refuse ?.

He's still under contract with the Suns until the end of 2016.

Rocket on Game Day:
  • We didn't play very well at all. Things we trained and practiced for 4 months just weren't there. Effort wasn't there.
  • So much development left in them across the board. Mentally, physically, etc.
  • Still trying to figure out the mentality of the group and why they fall away on occasion. IE: We get within a kick and then just die in the ass. <-- He didn't say that, but you know what I mean.
  • Seems rapt with Saad. Worked really hard over the summer. "He's a good lad."
  • RE: Ablett. He looked rusty and was a bit sore after the game but should be fine for next week. Has not talked to him this morning but 'certainly hopeful' that he'll be right to play.
  • RE: Jaeger. Freak accident and gone for the season. Went to soccer the ball along the ground and someone fell on his knee, hyper extending it badly and snapping the patella.
  • Admits there is maybe an over-reliance on Gary still but working very hard to correct that.
  • Still think they're a couple years away (at least) from challenging the Flag. 'A bit of work to do.'
  • Karmichael a nothing situation in relation to current players.

I think Downie fits that position, tbqh. That guy just knows where the goals are. He'd be the least athletic guy on our list, but he just finds a way. I'd love to see how he goes in the seniors. Even though we recruited him for 2s footy.

Need someone with some smarts down there.. Not just 2m tall or freaky skills or speed

Title of an article on the AFL website, Rocket thinks we are at least a couple of years away from playing finals. Is this where we are at? What do you guys think?

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-04-05/suns-years-away-eade
This quote is taken WAY out of context. He was asked when we would be consistent finals challengers, he said we'd be two years away. Not when our maiden finals would be. Shocking title.

Article states Hunt's "first offence, buying 3.5 grams of cocaine for $1100, occurred on the day of the Suns’ Mad Monday celebrations, while another happened on a golf trip to the Sunshine Coast with teammates."

Yes, the article doesn't really say all that much like Sunny said, but judging off those dates, it's going to be an absolute miracle if none of our players are involved. :(

this guilt thru suspicion is bullshit. innocent before being proven guilty should be paramount. That would be like me saying blah blah is a drug dealer. blah blah now has to clear his name. if and when the media get a hold of it , it is then now guilty til proven innocent. look at the farce the bumbers may have got away with. I believe if you have done drugs and are court, suffer the reprocussions..
