This thread is for general trade period discussion.

All discussion relating to the phase out of the COLA and the AFL's plan to restrict our trading activity goes in here --> http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/afl-no-trades.1079586/

Nick Malceski has accepted a Free Agent offer from the Gold Coast. We received a 2nd Round Compo pick after our original 2nd Round Pick.

Membrey has asked to be traded to St Kilda.

Biggs is rumoured to be of interest to Victorian clubs.

Tom Mitchell is under contract until 2016 and has said he wants to stay at the club.

Sam Reid is under contract and not on the trade table according to the club.

Academy Bidding saw us take Heeney with our First Round Pick, Hiscox with our Second Round Pick and Davis with our Fourth Round Pick.

Current draft picks available to the Swans: 37 and 55

Eddie just said on radio that the next target is academies.
Looks like full blown war.

No more trades with Collingwood, never. would rather see a player go in the PSD than them getting any of our players.

No.

You can't do that. You treat each transaction on its merits.

I can't believe I am asking this but who is the best key position defender that has been delisted by their club this year?

At this stage who cares.

Far too angry at this amateur league to be genuinely engaged.

Play within the rules they set out, get punished.

Aside McKernan or Warnock.

So hypothetically if St kilda offered us a player for Membrey rather than a pick the AFL will reject the trade. Is that about it?

We did that & look what happened, bout time this club took a stand. All this has come from the pigheaded old VFL attitude of, we can have a AFL as long as they don't win. Where would the they be if it was still the VFL?
Taking a stand like that is meaningless.

They are attempting to force us into 6th to 12th place mediocrity in perpetuity. Why hasten or worsen that outcome.

A stand is leaving the comp but what does that do anyway.

Peasants must know their place in an equalized LOL competition

Who knows.

Mature State League player.

Originally I didn't want Matthew Warnock or Jordan Lisle, but with this afternoon happening it might not be a horrible idea to take one of them on as a short term insurance policy in defence. Warnock moreso than Lisle, given he is a far more experienced defender at AFL level.

Warnock is probably the better option. Lisle has greater potential, but his disposal under pressure is woeful and we've already got plenty of players capable of turning the ball over 9 times out of 10.
