Re: Vince Young Trouble In Tennessee

It will be a shame if Vince can't turn it around. Perhaps the Titans aren't the team that can utilise his unique talent to it's potential.

As for Lienart's spa work...niiiiiiiccccccee!!

.... currently sit 11-1, the equal best record in the NFL.

In the 2005 draft, they had the 6th selection and took Pacman Jones - who is no longer on the team.

In the 2006 draft, they had the 3rd selection and took Vince Young - who is languishing on the bench.

In 2005, DB's that were taken after Jones included Antrel Rolle, Carlos Rogers, Thomas Davis, Kerry Rhodes.

In 2006, Jay Cutler was taken after Vince Young.

Had they drafted better in these years imagine where they'd be now?

Re: The Titans

Those 2 drafts weren't exactly busts. LT Roos was 2nd pick in 05 and RT Stewart was later round. Both are now their bookends for years to come and along with veteran Mawae one of big reasons for being 11-1. Bo Scaife late round pick.

LenDale White and Finnegan in '06.

So the Pacman pick doesn't look that bad, he was a v good player.
Young won Off ROTY. Plenty of 1st round busts around the League.

I still reckon the Colts and Steelers are the teams to beat in the AFC.

I don't buy such talk of 'if this team took that player, and if they picked up that guy ect ect' as it's a TEAM game and a team game requires all types of chemistry to work.. a late round picks like Colston & Hillis are DOING the jobs for their respective teams and that's just one example of draft being a lucky dip process. Teams like the Raiders are a rabble, Lions just total disfunctional and Cinci are a basket case again. Staff shake ups are required for these teams to MOVE ON and even though Jeff Fisher has been with the Titans a very long time, the Titans have never really bottomed out
and hadn't need to reBUILD... just a re-shuffle in starters (hint for failing teams), and good luck with draft picks like Chris Johnson. Take CJ out and the Titans are trailing the Colts. Simple as that.

Re: The Titans

They are the best

best? Won nothing yet Beber. Until they host the AFC Conf Chmpship in late January and WIN that one, follow it up with a WIN in the BIG DANCE ...also known as the Supabah, then your four word post is warranted. The Patriots were 18-0 up until the Supabah... guess what, they were NOT the BEST when it really mattered so it's a lesson for all the kids out there NOT get ahead of themselves if the NE example doesn't teach anyone a lesson, nothing will.

11-1 is just good. Nothing more, nothing less.

Re: The Titans

They are a bit like the Crimson Tide getting shown up by the Gators today, once they start to face some real opponents they will start to falter again

Titans Think Redskins Tampered with Haynesworth

From fanhouse, the Titans believe (probably as most do) that the Redskins tampered with Haynesworth.

"The Tennessee Titans believe that the Washington Redskins broke the NFL's tampering rules in their signing of Albert Haynesworth, and now the only question is whether they can prove it to Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean is reporting that the Titans are interested in pursuing the charges. That's no surprise: Reports swirled in the days before free agency opened that the Redskins and Haynesworth already had a deal in place. That would be a textbook example of a violation of tampering rules.

But can the Titans prove it? We know that Haynesworth's agent was spotted talking to Redskins owner Daniel Snyder at the NFL Scouting Combine, but that doesn't prove anything. And Haynesworth says he didn't hear anything from the Redskins until four minutes after the free agency period officially started.

Of course, last year, most people thought the evidence that the 49ers tampered with Lance Briggs was fairly flimsy. That didn't stop Goodell from ruling that the 49ers had, in fact, tampered -- and from giving the Bears one of the 49ers' draft picks.

The Titans aren't making a big deal out of this publicly, other than Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt saying, "It's always something we can address with the league.'' You can bet Goodell will hear more than that"

So what happens if the commission find that tampering did occur? They simply lose a draft pick/s and fines? or is there more penalties that would disourage this from happening?

Re: Titans think Redskins tampered with Haynesworth

You would think if they did have a deal in place which was organised for a long time, they would at least bother to wait a few days to announce it so it doesn't look so dodgy.

There is no way you can do a 7 year $100m deal (with 60% of that in performance bonuses) in the amount of time they will claim they did.

Chris Johnson: 128 yards for 2,000.

So ... will he get it?

His Titans play at Seattle who average 109.5 yards rushing a game. I think he'll get 2,000. Also if he rushes for 234 yards he will break Eric Dickerson's all-time record of 2,105.

Re: Chris Johnson: 128 yards for 2,000.

I wouldnt put anything past CJ he is an absolute freak and deserves all the accolades he gets if he breaks the record. :thumbsu:

To the answer the question yes he will get the 128 yds IMO but it is a line ball call to break Dickersons record and you would be brave to tell him he couldnt get it. Will make for good viewing though from the Box!!! Cant Wait :D

Also IF he does break Dickersons record surely the MVP will go his way.... Hell it should be his even with the 128 yds to break 2,000.

Re: Chris Johnson: 128 yards for 2,000.

He'll get the record
Titans wont play a balanced offence and will give CJ his shot,
I actually wouldnt be suprised if he gets 300 yards rushing in the game and break AP's record
