Mahoney on Dangerfield to Melbourne:

One deal that is very unlikely to transpire is the luring of Patrick Dangerfield away from Adelaide, and Mahoney says their approach for the elite midfielder was quickly dismissed as an option.

“We just really made one enquiry very early days and it became very clear that he ideally would like to be an Adelaide player.”

With Travis Varcoe going and now Bundy as well, the SC situation at GFC just got a WHOLE lot easier. Danger can expect a GFC to have bags of cash when he is RFA.

Might not have anything else, but we'll have that. :p

It could get very interesting if the Cats are able to offer a big contract.

Hearing very big rumours from an inside source that a trade will be done soon seeing Dangerfield and pick 31 to Melbourne in exchange for pick 2, Trengove and pick 23

If this is true then Adelaide are getting very very very ripped off in that trade.

Hearing very big rumours that this is a pile of manure seeing as the Crows rejected an offer of pick 2 and 3 for Danger.

I'm in the first boat, why would the crows turn down pick 2 and 3 in a good draft for pick 2 and a $hit truck..Pick 23 is not a winner either

Not sure if its a true I just said I heard about it as a rumour, and those rumours came from an inside source

Yep, we have heard that stuff before on BF.
You may have to excuse our skepticism.

If Dangerfield is still a Crow by 2pm tomorrow then this thread is going to really heat up over the next 12 months. As we''ve seen with Buddy and Frawley, the longer Danger doesn't re-sign with the Crows then the more likely it is that he is going to leave.

About as much chance of leaving as Robbie Gray does.

Cats had a rough week. Lost Bundy and Varcoe, gained Mitch CLark and Stanley.

If nothing else, the upside is we let more cash leave than we gained.

And if we are banking SC for next year, which is now the thing to do regarding FA apparently, the longer Danger remains unsigned the more that SC space looks look, at the very least, being used to target him. Whether it comes off or not remains to be seen, but that war chest of FA cash is growing to serious proportions…

Congratulations, Adelaides will still be bigger due to Rutten, S.Thompson, Podsiadly, Reilly and Porplyzia gone this year and the fact Tippetts money has been spread over the past two seasons.

If Danger leaves Adelaide it will have nothing to do with money. However, money could play a role in what club he chooses to be traded to.

You will need to pay for Walker, Sloane as well as Danger if all remain un-contracted end of next year. All could be on the close end of 1 mill or over.

Surely Collingwood have a huge amount of free cap space with all the senior players leaving recently.

Would be very surprised if we don't make a big play for him
