Thursday October 16 - NAB AFL restricted free agency matching offer three-day period ends

Friday October 17, at 2pm - NAB AFL Trade Period closes

Friday October 31, by 2pm - List lodgement (1); Rookie promotion to primary list; Retained second and third-year rookies; Scholarship players; Alternate talent player nominations, Total player payment (TPP) estimates.

Saturday November 1 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (1) begins

Yep, I was really surprised at that, especially since he came like 8th in our B&F and only just turned 28 last month!

Has been played out of position and has probably bulked up too much in the past couple of years since his knee reco, so I reckon if he trims down a little and plays the sort of role he was playing in 2010 and 2011, when he was in ripping form, he could still have plenty of good footy left in him.

With us though it's pretty clear that we want to open up a space for someone like Josh Bruce to play in and with Fisher back and playing so well late in the year, I guess they decided one of Gwilt and Fisher had to go, so that we could look to the future and with Fisher being the better of the two, it was Gwilt that got the flick. Will surely get picked up by someone else though and be good value for them.

Yeah, you'd have to think he'd get picked up. Be a handy replacement for Patful for Brisbane if he decides to go I reckon. Really, most sides could fit him in as he can play tall and small.

I'm not sure where this fits in but Essendon have also nominated Jake Long, son of Michael for pre-selection in the Rookie Draft.
