Carryover 1 - Patrick Dangerfield

Our very own awe-inspiring captain. Dangerfield is fast turning into the comp's #1 superstar with his speed, toughness and ability to win the contested ball. His numbers in all areas are undoubtedly solid, and will continue to rise with age. Performed well for the Gators last season, but should rise back to his 2012 numbers and beyond in the coming years.

Carryover 2 - Ryan Griffen

This cool, calm and collected midfielder was selected with pick 26 in last year's draft, and proved to be an absolute bargain. Griffen is an absolute beast - he can play as a forward, a defender and certainly through the midfield. Our very own utility/outside mid, he will again be a vital cog in the Dogs and Gators midfields in 2014 and beyond.

Carryover 3 - Jay Schulz

The toughest decision of the lot as to the third carryover. Schulz is a proven forward target at the Power, and will stay at his current numbers, if not more, in 2014. Averaging 32.6 as a forward in 2013, there is nothing to say he won't continue the trend, with a great pair of hands, immense strength and of course a golden boot.

Pre-Draft Selection - Michael Barlow

A star in the Dockers' midfield, he will be the new star Docker on the Gators' list, following in the footsteps of Pav and Sandi. Barlow is in his prime, and can play a number of LFFL positions, including inside mid, outside mid, back, tackler, utility, heck he's even alright in the forward line. Will most likely be used as a utility and an outside mid, switching with Griffen when necessary.

Round 1 Selection - Michael Walters

Pav out, Walters in. Although this pick copped its fair share of criticism, coach Danger in Texas felt that Walters is a genuine talent who will develop finely in the coming years in their push for the premiership. Walters is a fine player in so many ways - he has poise, goal sense and speed. Considering most LFFL forwards are KPF's, this is a unique pick, and should help in the Gators' rise up the table.

Round 2 Selection - Mike Pyke

This was seen as a masterstroke by Gators coach Danger in Texas. Although probably not a carryover option, Pyke is still a very solid player, whose numbers will rise with the outgoing of Shane Mumford to GWS. He averaged 29 as a ruck last season, however he is expected to hit well above 30 in 2014 with more experience. A valuable pickup for the Gators.

Round 3 Selection - Dion Prestia

Labelled a masterstroke pick by many coaches, both parties are stoked that Prestia is on board. The young Gold Coast midfielder averaged 33ppg in defence, and 30 as an outside mid last season. And he hasn't even reached his full potential yet. Now a rock in the up and coming Suns midfield, he will only improve in 2014, and could be a carryover for the next few years.

Round 4 Selection - Grant Birchall

The rock solid Hawthorn defender was labelled a valuable pickup by many other LFFL coaches. An elite backman, he is well and truly in his prime, playing as a ball-winning, rebounding defender. With tags going to Smith and Mitchell, Birchall will be allowed to run into the midfield in 2014 and gain some more possessions. A great pickup at this stage in the draft.

Round 5 Selection - Jarryd Blair

Blair could very well be one of the steals of the draft if he has the breakout year DiT is expecting him to have. Blair's tackling numbers rose significantly this year, averaging 28.5ppg. If he can keep playing the defensive, high half forward role he played in 2014, his numbers will rise in all areas, and he will prove to be a great pickup, but we'll wait and see.

Round 6 Selection - Jack Martin

Here we have a high risk, high reward pick. One of the best talents to come through the ranks in recent years, some experts have been suggesting that Martin has had a better development program put into him than Jaeger O'Meara. Although he will only be a backup this year, Martin should become an elite player in the years to come.

Round 7 Selection - Daniel Rich

Although best known for pushing a man out of a wheelchair, Rich is a forgotten footballer. After an outstanding first year, he has flown under the radar since. He will be a valuable backup outside midfielder, captain's choice, even forward if he can get back to his 2012 form. A very nice pickup at this stage of the draft.
