i hate to do this coz god knows i've said so much wrong s**t (Hi MJ), but we basically had this chat 2 years ago
I remember that. Difference is that it's debatable that Harris is even in the ODI best XI. He's behind Johnson, Starc, NCN, Hazlewood and possibly Cummins and Richardson in there.

Harris hasn't played ODD cricket for 18 months and ODI cricket for nearly 2 years, yet is a probable inclusion? I doubt that.

Home town decision there, clearly if he did hit it it was into the ground.

It does nothing for the eternal DRS debate when an official video review can stuff up a decision like that, particularly when it goes against India. How an umpire can be 100% certain the batsman hit that I will never know.

Okay I think I can stop arguing with eth about cricket now lmao
So I say that Harris with significant injury problems won't play test cricket again when in his 30's was a bad call? Yes, but at the time it was a very valid point.

Apparently there is some ashes series later this year. Anyone know much about it? If it's 5 - day cricket, id be saving one of the est test bowlers (who struggles to get up for each days play let alone each test) out of the silly hit & giggle format. ODI is a young man's game now (or old wise batsmen for those people).

Harris has to be picked for the World Cup. He hasn't become worse since he last played an ODI.
Well, he's barely played ODers since two new balls + new fielding rules were introduced. That could make him worse. But he's so obviously worth the risk. I mean, if it comes to not picking Harris, or not picking one of the all-rounders who should be considered for the number 6 position and only the number 6 position, then it's a see ya to one of maxwell/faulkner/marsh

Highlights of the series for me;

- 3rd session day 5 at Adelaide
- Haze's maiden 5 for and that ball to Rahane
- The Smith/Johnson partnership in the first innings at the Gabba
- Rohit clapping at Johnson
- Morning of Day 4 at the Gabba when the Aussies got a role on with the ball
- The Shaun Marsh 99 - didn't matter that he was one run short, someone needed to dig in when the wickets were tumbling late on day 4
- Burns teeing off at the SCG

and Lowlights;
- Feather beds for the batsmen / Graveyards for the bowlers
- 17 dropped catches + botched run outs at the bowlers end
- Nathan Lyon bowling too straight to the right handers over the wicket and getting worked onto the leg side for easy singles
- Starc's efforts at the Gabba
- Smith's reluctance to have a 3rd slip
- Pup getting injured

It was good hard test match cricket for the most part, far from boring. The bat did dominate this series but it certainly wasn't helped by consistently poor bowling by India and dropped catches from both sides.

Squad seems about right to me.

Think that it is reasonable to select Mitch Marsh for the future, he may be one of the most destructive lower order hitters in the country anyway. Glad that they resisted the temptation to select Agar as his performances in the Big Bash have not been up to it.

The only question is who comes in to replace Clarke if he isn't fit. Do we have enough players who can build through an innings? Marsh is probably the best option because he can both hit and build. Lynn should also be close.

Marsh, Lynn or White.

I really wish Clarke would just give up one day cricket.

Not because he shouldn't be in the side or isn't good enough, but because he should be preserving his fragile body for the form of the game he's actually best at- Test cricket.

We don't need pup in the ODI arena. Finch, Warner, Watson, Smith, Bailey, Marsh is a good enough top 6.

Yep, much more easy to replace him in the ODI team than the Test team. Much more annoyed Haddin got a ODI keeping gig, as I thought that in one-day cricket especially some form with the bat would be required. Unless I missed the memo saying specialist wicketkeepers were all the rage again? Darren Berry will be upset at that!

If it were specialist keepers, Hartley or Whiteman would have gotten the gig.

I love Mark Waugh commentating

"Travis Head in will be good for Sydney. He took a while to get going the other night (in his 57)"

Travis Head hit the next two balls to the or over the boundary.
Ahh Junior. Should be banned from Thunder games
