Have not really checked the starting list of riders but Nibali always tough to beat in Italy. Valverde does not quite have legs for grand tours.
He got on the Podium in Tour de France last year, ahead of people like Nibali and Contador.

Beast of a man. Wonder if he'll back up in the TDF, or take a break and go the Vuelta?

Not sure. Normally rides TdF. Once Giro starts heading up hill seriously might even pull out.

So happy for Michael Matthews. One of my favourite riders.

Green jersey is predictable. Again. The only Guernsey that's actually an interesting contest is the KOTM.
