The Kevin McHale Cup 2013-2014 (Auction league)

I assume you get the players you bid highest on like normal? However i think you kind of need to get one player at a time to know how much you can bid on others. Not really a problem for me since i only need 1 player but just saying.

How does it work if we have the highest bids on multiple different players?

Do we get all of them?

What if win the bid on 4 different players, how do you determine which 2 I get?

Each round; one nominated player per Manager. Highest bid on each player wins.
Repeat untill all rosters filled.

Oh that's a bit screwed man. For instance say there's 4 players i wouldn't mind owning and i'm happy to pay 1 mil for any of them but i get outbid for my number one preference and then the other three get snapped up for less than my million so i wind up with no one i'm not going to be too happy. I reckon we'd be better to either have the nominations posted and then bid or be able to nominate as many players as we'd like and our bids on each.

We can revert to previous season procedure if we like (nominate 3 players each and form more rounds containing sets of 6) I found it bloody dull and dragged the auction on to a slow death. I thought this format might be a bit more exciting...wish I was in it.
Happy to take on other opinions, but to me this rewards Managers that have either completed thier rosters during the set draft or have conserved thier budget. You may miss out on guys you covet, but that'll happen in set groups too, and we are talking about roster spot 14 or 15...
This is a democracy...

I like the new way of doing it Bugsy!

I can understand Deeman's frustration too, but I agree it does make it more interesting and exciting this way.....
Does everyone go for their number 1 preference or leave that player to the others and instead try and get their 2nd or 3rd preference straight away??? So many questions!!!! So many possible answers!!!!

So whats the go? Do I just send the player I want with the $ value I want to pay?

If we make any trades with finalised teams, I assume we don't have to worry about the cap?

No, you don't have to worry about the cap, but values applied at Auction, or with contracts, carry over through a trade. So the same contracting rules apply regardless of which team a player ends up on.

I will require Managers to post their new contracts before the end of the weekend (or before you go away Rhino), so if you need to trade before that happens, now's the time.

Yeah, that's a crazy stacked team. I'll be interested to see how contracts are allocated. Some quality players will be missing out.

I'm expecting all rosters to be completed today, so we need everyone to start posting contracts. 4 Development Contracts and 2 Team Contracts. The bottom 6 teams ffom last season get an extra Team Contract.

Thanks guys.

I am hoping for a good season, but I also had a similar roster last year and injuries killed me, so I;ll have to wait and see.

Bugsy, can you tell me whether I finished in the bottom or top 6 last season? Honestly can't remember.
