The new owner wants them to sign Astori who is an Italian international linked with Spurs, Everton and United. He is the owner of Cagliari where Astori plays. Surely that isn't above board if it goes through (not expecting it to)There's some really weird candidates being thrown up for the Leeds job, a couple of obscure Italian guys and David Hockaday, who's never managed a league side before. That club's an absolute basketcase at the moment.

But even more dirty. They were young loanees. The story I had read mentioned it being a permanent transfer and that he is looking to sell the Italian club to American investors after the transfer windowWatford mk2
If the owner can afford his wages at Calgliari why wouldn't he at Leeds?Surely Astori will still reject terms with Leeds? Its not like he'd want to play in the Championship and they couldn't afford to pay him enough to convince him otherwise.
Or not. Now saying he doesn't want considered.Looks like Roy Keane will be announced as Celtic manager in the next few days.
FFP only comes into it in the Championship and European comps right? If he is targeting promotion he can pump the money in this window without having the implications hit them too bad
QPR probably would've copped a transfer ban if they hadn't been promoted, in addition to a pretty significant fine. They're pretty harsh measures, if you cop massive losses and fail to achieve promotion you will get screwed over. I'd also question Astori's own interest in joining Leeds, why would you leave a Serie A side to join a club like Leeds, particularly given you'd probably have far better offers on the table from other clubs. Its a career-killer.
sami hyppia has gone from 33/1 to favourite to be next brighton manager.
And a fan killer. There used to be heaps of Leeds fans about this place.

well the step down wasnt really his choice
Never really understood the decision to sack him. 3rd & 4th in his first 2 seasons of management with Leverkusen wasn't exactly a bad result.
