A great loss when he passed. With a young daughter left behind as well.

Although the mainstream reaction was one of anger when he was announced as the next Joker, amongst the Batman geeks (which I admit I'm part of), I was quite excited by the decision. He nailed it. Straight from the pages of the Long Halloween.
I was a bit WTF too when he was first announced. I hadnt seen his work in Monsters Ball or Brokeback Mountain at that point. I was more thinking 10 Things I Hate About You and A Knights Tale.

Boy was I wrong. He's a legend.

Look at what Matt Damon had to say about him.

I'm not as good as i think i am :p avg about 5 per round.

I had a sportsbet account for 12 months and i lost about a grand. I have an addictive personality and decided it was best just to close it down.
That's like me but I get sucked in to losing big amounts at Crown. Really need to stop going there with mates because at my young age my money could be better spent elsewhere and I don't have a lot :drunk:. I just get into the trap of thinking I'll get the cash back.

I don't see anything wrong with 10 a week on sports though

Usually end up at Crown after a bucks or work eofy/chrissy party. I limit myself to $50 on blackjack. I usually bust and head home. Occasionally I go ok and then get bored haha.
I guess if u bet what you can afford or are comfortable losing and no more then u are fine. $10 a week on a multi seems to be the norm around here. Don't have a problem with that but it's just not me.

I have a group of friends who are my go to when I want to go watch sport and I'm pretty close with them. They love a punt though and it definitely rubs off on me. I wish 50 was all I lost when I go there. Haha.

Problem is being 18 and working while waiting to start uni I've never had this kind of monetary freedom so I'm quickly learning how expensive going out is and that I really need to start focusing on saving some cash.

That's tough mate. I had a similar experience until my early 20s. What helps me is taking out cash from the atm and only spending that amount on the punt or taking out say 200 at the start of the night and leaving my eftpos Card at home and taking my credit card to pay for a cab home

Yep really need to start doing that. Have had messy nights where I just lose my thought process.

Was always going to happen though. Have to learn somehow plus having 18ths I copped many social occasions where I had to go and spend cash.

One of my goals for this year is to be better with my money. Will see how that goes.

When I first moved to Melbourne from Adelaide I was holedmup in a hotel for three weeks, not really knowing anyone and with nothing to do when I wasnt working.

So I'd go down to Crown, doubling up on the Roulette wheel. Got to the stage one night where I kept doubling up, and losing until I got to the stage where I'd bet $320 one one roll (red/black). Felt sick as soon as I put the chips down, won and walked out.

Another time I took $5 into Adelaide Casino, got $500 up, lost a few hands of blackjack and then lost the lot trying to get the $500 back.

Too easy for me to get carried away chasing losses. So I don't gamble at all really nowadays.

Got upto $3800 playing Roulette, the betting limit before having to move upto the big boy tables. Lost it all.

Won 250,000 peso in Manila (about $7,000 aud) playing Roulette too. Paid for the entire holiday.

Yeah that's me with roulette.

Sports betting wise I tend not to chase losses as much.

Ive worked at Crown Perth for a couple of years as a Croupier. I know gambling is stupid and everything is weighted towards the house. You can get lucky but 90% of the time, you are going to lose. So I never gamble. I saw it all first hand.

The only thing I do play at Crown is poker. But it's pretty much the only game not weighted towards the casino. Im playing other players and although you need a little luck, it's more of a skill game.

I've had some good night playing poker and a few years ago I built up my poker roll to nearly 10,000 and then used that money to travel the world for about 6 months with the other money I had saved. Good times.

Been to all of those places except Liverpool and the States.

Haven't met a person who doesn't like Berlin.
Yeah Berlin was great. Liverpool is a great night out, particularly after watching the boys at the 3pm kick off. Drinking before hand. The game, win which we did, then push on into the city for dinner and hit the pubs and clubs. A good day.

America is amazing. New York in particular of course. My favourite place on that trip was probably Nice though, really chilled place and the people me and my bro met there probably made it. A lot of great nights!

I have heard Liverpool is a hole.

Nice is great, did you go to that park?
Liverpool is much better than it used to be. As a city, it is always growing and building and changing. I think it got to a point, where it realised it was a hole and they had to do something about it.

What park in Nice?
