Has been smacking scores left right and centre for months. Everyone knows marsh is always a big big chance to fall for less than 10. Can't have that in a side full of enigmatic talents like Warner, Maxwell, M.Marsh and even Finch when fitOne innings is now consistency is it

Yes.... and those scores are irrelevant. Otherwise we might as well just select our ODI side based off who dominates the BBL and IPL...

He showed how relevant they were today. When a player is seeing it that well he'll find it no trouble in ODI cricket. He was also on fire in the test series so he was the form batsmen in both shorter and longer formats than this. Today was never in doubt that he'd hit the ground running

Ok let's abandon the domestic OD tournament, clearly the BBL is enough. Doesn't change the fact that Marsh was dudded out of his position. Smith and Bailey before Marsh.

Usman had amazing form in test and BBL before this. Were you honestly shocked he did well today?
It's a professional national team. Feelings and being dudded for a better player shouldn't matter. In a pure 1v1 battle for a spot in the side Marsh loses every time to Khawaja with current form

They have and it's purely because they prioritise the BBL which is just wrong and a sad indictment on society that the lap up that more than proper cricket.
By prioritising it over the festive period they've shunted the Shield to the spare spots in the calendar and pushed the ODD to September and made it irrelevant by playing it purely out of Sydney.

Honestly, have all the states have the set up like SA have with the shield stream, make it accessible on smart TVs etc and give it some marketing. Small improvements. If it wasn't for the lack of marketing, and the results of, IMO you could get about 1,000 to shield games and about 3-5k at ODDs IMO.

Yeah it tapered off worldwide. It didnt hit China as hard as it probably wanted to but that was expected. It's still made 122 million in China and it's still grossing money there as it hasnt bee out more than a month yet.
Everyone ruled out Avatar's worldwide gross weeks ago. 2.7b is a tough catch. Not sure anyone will ever get to that record. I think now it's lowering it's eyes at Titanic's worldwide cume of 2.186b. As you said it will cross 2b today so it needs a further 186 million worldwide to catch Titanic. It will probably fall short there aswell.
It also continues to crush the US Box Office. Clearly number one as it crosses 900 million in the US which obliterated Avatars record of 760 million which now seems paltry in comparison.
How much more has it got left in the tank? It could tap out in the US with around 925 but I get the feeling Disney really want to push it, they would love it to crack 1b in the US alone. I dont think it will get there.
It still made 11 million last weekend in the US but plenty of competition is coming, starting with Deadpool this week.
As it slows down now though and settles probably into the third all time world wide and 1st easily at the US Box Office, there can be no argument. SWTFA was a bit of a hit haha.
What's going to be interesting will be how Rogue One goes and then of course Episode VIII. As that article said if it kinda sucks like Kick Ass 2 did and it has a similar % drop, it would still be good for 540 million or so at the US Box Office.
I dont think Episode VIII will suffer those drops though. I dont think it will beat The Force Awakens as the original is always is the big money earner but I think 700 million would be the benchmark for Episode VIII. Im sure Disney would love Episode VII, VIII and IX to be the top three at the US Box Office once they all have come out and right now, that would be totally possible.

Better player is certainly debatable.
Current form you say. Well given you're giving stock to irrelevant formats. Marsh averaged 73 in the BBL and scored a ton in last test innings during this summer whilst averaging 77 for the summer. Averaged 65 in the Domestic One Day comp in September and since returning to the ODI side for the first time in 2 years in 2013 has averaged nearly 49 so what exactly is Usman being selected over him?
Marsh's relevant format performances stack up and his irrelevant format form has been good also. Moreover he is being replaced as an incumbent for irrelevant form despite having similar form. Bailey or Smith the better options.

If you really think Shaun Marsh is a certain starter for us in any format there's no point discussing this further. The blokes proven to fail more times than not

I don't. Finch is the certain starter. Marsh has earned the right to be first in line however.

I think Shaun Marsh would work really well - just not as an opener. I'd have him in Bailey's spot. Let him come in after we've set up the innings a little bit and let him get to work.
