What are the following players worth?

Stefan Martin - Depends on team, 10-20
Daniel Rich - WA team's first round.
Jack Redden - 15-25
Harley Bennell - Depends on whether you recon he won't stuff up. If so a top 10 pick.
Zac Smith - 2nd round/3rd.

Charlie Dixon - early 2nd/late first.
Steven Motlop - first round.
Daniel Gorringe - steaknives, 4th round.

Matthew Suckling - UFA - $$$$ value? Who knows, maybe $650K for a good team

Matthew Leuenberger - RFA - $$$$ value? No idea, but $400-500K is a starting point

So both Henderson and Yarran would be worth top 10 picks then in this shallow draft? A lot of people would scoff at that.

Look at Hawthorns trade history, what did they package Cheney and Lowden up to Adelaide for last year? A pick in the 30s and that was for 2 players not one.

Whitecross was a decent player in 2011-12, but this Hawthorn side have gone ahead of him imo. Sure it takes a long time to recover from an ACL, but who is going to pay a 2nd rounder for a back flanker who has a heap of competition ahead of him with the knee he carries as baggage? If he were a tall then yeah maybe, take the risk, but not on a vanilla position type imo.

A 3rd rounder isn't token these days, its a pick in the 40s generally and there have been solid kids being picked up there lately like Bailey Dale, Caleb Daniel, Cory Gregson and Jack Lonie. A 4th/5th rounder is what I'd consider as token like what Geelong received trading out Chapman and Podsiadly for etc.

Henderson and Yarran are easily worth a first rounder, especially to a side contending. You get a contending side, add the class of Yarran watch out. Yarran's deficiencies come up a lot as he is one of the very few players at Carlton that are good, thus he gets attention. Put him in the Hawthorn, Sydney, Freo sides and watch him deliver. Henderson is worth a late first. Worth more that a few players who went 2nd round.

This Hawthorn side is elite there are players in their Box Hill side that would be top 18 anywhere else. Whitecross is more than a back flanker.

Stefan Martin - Contracted, 10-20 easily now, worth more to Brisbane than anyone else you'd think
Daniel Rich - Contracted, 15-30
Jack Redden - Contracted, hard to gauge, perhaps the same as Rich, maybe a tad more
Harley Bennell - Contracted, 5-15, maybe that and steak knives, hard to gauge if his off field baggage has hurt his value
Zac Smith - Contracted?? 15-25 sure Essendon or Geelong would bite, Hickey a previous example to look at but Hickey was younger when traded though.

Charlie Dixon - Uncontracted, if Fremantle then their 1st rounder, if Brisbane potentially PSD/2nd rounder

Steven Motlop - Uncontracted, if a bidding war happens with Adelaide, North, Richmond etc then 8-15

Daniel Gorringe - Uncontracted, 3rd/4th rounder at best, not really playing with Brooksby and Wright getting games. Could be a DFA.

Matthew Suckling - UFA - $$$$ value? Reported at around 400k Brisbane are offering, can't recall if it was the HUN or afl.com.au who said that

Matthew Leuenberger - RFA - $$$$ value? 450-550k, depends who has the money and wants him desperately, Essendon, Geelong and Dogs are keen

I rate talls and X Factor finishing types much higher than stock standard flankers/smalls, but it depends on contractual and personal situations I guess
