At what point do some of you stop swallowing propoganda from both sides of politics ?

I'm quite sure many of you would spare no time trying to tell others that Murdoch press is propogandist, yet you seek out and swallow this type of cheap propoganda.

You realise that is the Russia Today anchor and one of the most biased flogs imaginable, that hates her own country, and is being produced by a tin pot rabble group of sacked self proclaimed socialist journo's that cannot get a real job anywhere.

There is no prerequisite to become just another archetypal 19yo fedora wearing arts student or student union type flog that eventually grows up and becomes embarassed by their own naivity. There is noone spiking your drinks telling you to "take a side".

As a free and intelligent person (hopefully with an open mind) you are allowed to formulate your own opinions...and that cannot happen if you permit yourself to be a patsy for propogandist garbage from all sides.

There are always 1000 versions of the "truth"...the truth in politics is somewhere in the middle and with a closed mind all you ever get is the particular version of the truth that you want to hear.

She has history on her side ... I doubt you even watched it. I Suppose you think John Pilger is a propogandist too???

Look, there is a need to appreciate the filter through which information is projected, that is true.....but you lose when you attempt to stereotype the messenger/message/receiver using your own puerile propaganda in the form of a syllogism. You do realise that she was interviewing a former top-ranking member of the MIC?...who did most of the leading in the interview....or maybe Nut was right and you didn't bother to watch it after all. I agree there may be 'versions' of the truth, as spoken by liars, and I assume that you would agree that truth 'relativism' is as dangerous and disingenuous as moral relativism - the western curse....I digress. In any case, History supports the Nut posting and the assertions made in the interview.

clap clap. so impartial. Defend our oligarch masters. RT bad... NYT good.

For all the talk of Putin and mind war, the prick is using fuel air weapons on civilians in Idlib.
Lolz well you're going to love this. If that doesnt work, he's going to nuke them all straight to heaven or hell right where they belong.

Putin has said today that he will continue to improve Russia's nuclear arsenal in a bid to deter potential threats to his country - including arming cruise missiles with nukes to destroy ISIS.
The Russian president said he would use nuclear only as security protection.

Speaking on a documentary broadcast on Russian TV, Putin said he would not wield the "nuclear big stick".

But he threatened to liquidate ISIS terrorists with nuclear warheads if conventional bombing raids fail to destroy the terror group.

The Russian president warned that his military's cruise missiles could be fitted with atomic weapons.

During a televised meeting with defence minister Sergey Shoigu, Putin said: "We must analyse everything happening on the battlefield, how the weapons operate.

"The Kalibrs [cruise missiles fired from the sea] and KH-101 [cruise missile fired from jets] have proved to be modern and highly effective, and now we know it for sure - precision weapons that can be equipped with both conventional and special warheads, which are nuclear."

But he added that launching a nuclear strike on ISIS in their Iraqi and Syrian heartlands would only be used as a last resort.

He said: "Naturally, this is not necessary when fighting terrorists and, I hope, will never be needed", Express reported.

This is winning the Mind war. Give up or burn. Truth.

Putin's problem is there's no Ramzan Kadyrov in Syria.

You can bet they are looking for one though, I'd be surprised if they wouldnt sacrifice Bashhar for a new friendly.

Yeah, I think Bashar knows he's being lined up for that too.

I suspect Putin will say "I saved you from the Gaddafi fate that was coming your way, now toddle off to your dasha I'm providing you and enjoy some quality time with the delectable Asma".

The question is who the Iranians will wear. They need soneone locked in to keep the supply lines to Hezbollah open.

Tbh while Bashar has proved resiliant he doesn't really look cut out to be a ruthless dictator, he looks like a gimpish Eye doctor, which is probably what he really is, the state apparatus had been set up since the 70's so personally I'm not even sure how responsible he even is. Compare with young Ramzan , now he has what it takes.

Tartus.

he does not want a puppet who can be turned by a new master. Assad is fine, that is a strategic need for Putin to have that port.
Well democracy is on the way isn't it? He'll have to deal with whoever get voted in, which most likely will be Assad if he's allowed to run, or another one who stands with Russia, who to be honest saved most of the non-sharia types who are internally displaced to government areas from being headless or in a big pit with a hole in the head. The ones who stay in the moderate terrorist or IS cities, will reduce in number the longer the conflict lasts. That's probably why the west is now keen to compromise. Now the rebels are losing, its time to save as many anti -assad lives as possible, so democracy will work better.

If you go to war the right thing to do is to win, as efficiently as possible. You don't go to war if you are too pussy to spill blood, and if you have the advantage you must kill your enemy as quickly as possible to end the war. This is why wars should be avoided at all costs. This is why the western leaders are so nihilistic in pushing Putin to war, because I have no doubt he would escalate to nuclear as soon as he felt seriously threatened, and then we are talking MAD basically. In fact given Russian space superiority they may even have the advantage to the point where they could annihilate us without being totally destroyed.

Yet Grozny is rebuilt and a boom town of sorts now.

There was an ambassador named Robert Ford who was a really I thought sort of crossed the line as an ambassador, because when ... he was the ambassador for the US to Syria in Damascus, and when the demonstrations began in early 2011, he actually would go to rallies where the opposition was and urged them to carry on.

That is an appalling image. Reminds me of a city in nagorno karabagh.

Merci Bashar.

I'm not on the side of the tyrant, albeit an oddly s**t looking one with a hot wife who has proven himself remarkably capable as a general under siege.

Nor can I sympathize with anyone still fighting in Syria. They are literally dying for yards of ceasefire line now. Especially in places like Idlib and Aleppo.

The only Syrians anyone should sympathise with are the 12;000 who will be arriving very soon.

How has he shown to be a capable General?

He's not dead yet?

He's successfully manipulated his own countrymen to turn on each other for his benefit?

He's got the Russians to come in and turn the tide of the conflict and make the West look like utter arsehats in the process?

I reckon that despite him being an unusually cruel despot, he's a rather clever lad.
