I don't have 3000 blocks of soul sand, no. This is just for the visible parts of the track that cut through my town.

I've realised that Soul Sand makes mine carts go slower... so if I go the left option then I need to substitute the Soul Sand for something else...

Takes a very, very long time. Alternatively get a silk touch enchantment on a shovel... I assume that would work.

Nope. I suspect Chief needs to update to 1.77.

Silk touch. Should be able to come across/maintain it with the new updates to enchanting and repair system in the next update.

I've been waiting for update to server to jump back on. Been playing some CTM Wool maps that I've downloaded from minecraft forum. So much rage at the mobs.
