The 82 Comm Games in Brisbane they kicked up when they were left off the map of Oz in the opening ceremony. My brother gave up a trip to the US with us a few years ago, because he'd miss out on 2 weeks of his night club guest list money, or something. Weird. He was over 21 as well.

Rubbish. I'm going back again at the end of this year I think (I went for 3 weeks from December '13 'til January '14) and I'm looking forward to it a lot.
Yes, I won't be able to go to Vegas or drink at will anywhere but I don't understand the logic behind that being your holiday anyway. If you want to get smashed, and throwaway money you can hit up the local or go to the races back here.
I drove down to Seattle for a weekend recently. Didn't drink but had a great time. Pretty sad if enjoyment depends on alcohol.
