I went to the opera last night. Ticket was $170 and I didn't have a view of the surtitles music and performances were lovely though.

Madame Butterfly fairly easy to follow at least.

I am not a fan of action movies, so in my mind if automatically deduct points for that. Having not seen Mad Max before had no idea what to expect.

It is insanely hectic, fast paced and weird. For what it is it is very very good, the rave reviews aren't wrong.

I'm not a big fan of action movies either but the Mad Max trilogy is a cut above the average action movie, they were must see Aussie cult classics.

+1 for never having seen Mad Max. I was too young for the first two, and when the third was released it was all Tina Turner, and big hair.

The first Mad Max was fantastic - it went down hill after that but they reckon this one is amazing.
Looking forward to seeing it.

The first 45 minutes (set in Bartertown) were fantastic but once the "lost kids looking for Cpt. Walker" storyline kicks in, it goes downhill very quickly. Was completely unnecessary IMO.
