How can she be queen of rock if she doesn't have any rock tracks in her discography.<confused>

First of all, it depends on your definition of rock. Secondly that moniker was bestowed upon her by her peers, fans and critics many years ago and it stuck. I would assume it came mostly from her live performances rather than her recorded work.

Remember after Elvis, white people played "rock" and black folks played "r&b." That's just the way it was.

That's what I'm talking about

Wonder if Ike had to smack her around after that?

He actually encouraged it. Some years ago she did a TV interview where she admitted that she was now embarassed by it. They just started ad-libing during that break in the song and Ike would push her into it as it drove the crowd bonkers.

1981: Six years after escaping from Ike and three years before the massive success of Private Dancer, Tina was working the clubs and Theatres to pay the bills and earn the respect she deeply craved as a rock singer. With no recording contracts and little money she had to rely on her knack of covering other artists' songs, like closing out this NYC Apollo Theatre gig with a Bob Seger hit:

Before a packed Wembley Stadium in 2000 (she filled it for 3 nights) on her offical farewell tour (billed as One Last Time), Tina for the only time in her solo career dusted off her first hit with Ike "A Fool In Love."

"Funkier Than A Mosquito's Tweeter" was written by Tina's sister Alline Bullock and loosely based on her brother-in-law, Ike:
