Ryder's got better tapwork, he's better as an additional midfielder, he's better up forward, and he's a better marking target in general. He can also run and carry and has superior disposal. He generally rises to the occasion, rather than shrinking away when the pressure's on. Ryder will probably finish top ten in the B&F, if the Essendon board player of the year votes are anything to go by. Goldstein has never been in the top two rucks - massively overrated player.
Better tap work? Watch last nights game again. Goldy has beaten Mumford, Jacobs, Minson and Ryder in his last 4 games. Not bad for such an over rated player. Or could it be you just completely got it wrong?

Ryder didn't even play at his best and matched his output, even an out of form Belly beat him one on one around the ground.
Goldy rucked well but he took one mark, he makes the most of his limited ability, he's a one trick pony there no denying it.

I wouldn't say Goldstein beat Ryder or Ryder beat Goldstein last night. It was very close and in my opinion they neutralised each other.

40 hits outs v 19 and 9. 7 big tackles and we dominated the clearances because of Goldy in the third. God help you if Belly has to be the number 1 ruck next year.

Nice aggressive game from the big fella, was up and about all over the ground, alot more variety in his game last night, good stuff.

Stay away from the Herald Sun today. He is currently the best ruckmen in the comp and a massive reason we won on Friday night.

Over rated? Your understanding of the game is really poor.

Alright, time to move on from weekly updates on Goldstein. Trading discussion/value only please.

Sure - the last 8 weeks has shown his worth. Has been massive taking the points V Mumford, Jacobs, Minson, Ryder and smashed Blicavs - who was meant to be a handful and run Goldy off his feet. 54 hitouts, great goal and a massive game saving mark.

If the ess supporters are wanting pick 4 and a good player then Goldy is worth pick 1 with an even better player.

North made the right call getting rid of McIntosh and keeping Goldy as our number 1 ruck. He's been a revelation
Agree - while Goldy has gone onto be a premier ruck in the afl we also got Wood for McIntosh. Wood debuted this year and looks promising. You don't become a top 4 team without good list management.

Shithouse and I'd put him on ice for 2015.

So this yr it's clearly Ryder>>Goldy>>>>Belly for anyone with any smarts.
Clearly!!

Goldy can 2nd in a top 4 teams B&F and Ryder 7th in side that finished 8th - he just scraped by Mark Bagley by a vote!!

Goldy also got a lot more coaches votes.

Clearly you have little understanding about the game.

At his age he's arguably worth a top five pick. Will be a one club player though so a pointless thread.
