Tony Modra

Heard a great story about Mods from Robbie Carruthers (strenght coach at Crows then).
Said during preseason Mods would be in with the trainers having a chat and joke while rest of squad was doing weights.
They would hear a commotion and Mods would head out to see what was going on.
Seeing Mods the other lads would inform him Jamo or whoever had broken one of his strenght records. (He held them all)
Mods would hop straight onto the Bench press or whatever, and proceed to smash a new highest rep out, with no warm up.
He would then head back to continue his chat with the trainers, leaving behind a speechless group of 15 or so players.
Apparently Blight hated this about him.

The stories that Troy Bond and Wayne Weiddemans wife told me about Tony Modra is enough to convince you that he didnt deserve a premiership. Was a dog of a bloke off the field.
They had the same wife? Convince "me" or convince "you". That's enough to convince me your literary skills are terrible.

Oh, you're a Port supporter...

Gary Ablett jnr. pretty recent actually.
John Coleman.
Dermott Brereton.
Did Matthew Kreuzer ever return to what he promised early?
Michael Barlow took a lot of time to return to his pre-injury form.
Chris Judd's groin.

...

So many players (of course not all superstars) that don't return in top form after an injury.

Doug Hawkins openly says he was never the same player after his knee reco

Good interview in open mike

Mods is what our game is about ...just looks like regular bloke

Liked a beer ...or three ...would be fined now and dropped by some stupid leadership crap thing

Has two kids now and looks comfortable in life and who he is ...good on him

Super talented and we need more players like him ...

Always remember him being upstairs at the Left Bank Pub celebrating Freo's first derby win (long awaited). No doubt his presence helped the freo boys with confidence that day.

Lol at the PAPs coming in trying to troll Mods. Your club has never had a player with his ability, profile or looks. Smh
Once again you've proven yourself to be an A grade flog Clerik.

Plenty of Port supporters have put aside petty hatreds to praise Modra and speak of their admiration.

You've shown again that you're a simple troll and once again it's backfired on you. No wonder you're banished from your own board:rolleyes:

You sound like Caroline Wilson. Who cares about his off field antics. He came onto the AFL scene with plenty of established gun spearheads. Ablett, Dunstall, Lockett, Longmire, Rocca etc. For two to three years he was the most watchable and exciting of the lot and very serviceable after overcoming injury till his retirement. A champ.
