I agree with you. Not worth $400k. Hope you guys keep him for $350 if that is the case.
Also, thanks for 'intruding' without being rude! Appreciated.

Is he better than Jarrod Grant ? To me it is a bit of a swap for us

No thanks to suckling.

Boyd, murphy, wood all in AA squad
Webb making everyone drool early in the year
JJ breaking out.
Biggs forging his way

Why tie up cap space to stock a position that isn't a problem?

Matty Boyd might be entering his final season, Bob hopefully has another 2 left in him, but things could change.

Webb still has a fair bit to go before he has a spot at HBF locked down just yet, might even develop his game further up the field?

JJ and Biggs and Suckling could all arguably be used/rotated from HBF to the Wing at various stages.

I'm not a massive Suckling fan, but if Beveridge believes he can get good service out of him for 3 years then I'm ok with it at the right price.

We could have the oldest back six in the league next year.

Murphy, Morris and Boyd are all 30+.
Wood will be 27.
Roughead (26) may play in defence.

Do we really want to add a 27-year-old to that list?

Or, injuries hit and we have Hamling, Roberts, JJ, Webb, Cordy and Biggs and suddenly have the youngest back 6.

Murph, Morris and Boyd will all be gone within 2 years. Would leave Wood at 29, then a bunch of youngsters in JJ, Hamling, Biggs (not young, but inexperienced) Webb, Cordy and Roberts. I reckon he could be quality to add some real finals experience. However all depends on how much he wants or asks for I guess.

Do the maths on the age of the premiership winning backline and come back to me.

Bevo would have seen enough of Suckling to make an informed decision. If Bevo gives the nod, I'm all in.
We've all seen plenty of suckling, he's hardly a nobody. He's a good player, getting him does not have a lot of wow factor to it. It's kind like, yeah ok, good player, good skills but hardly the missing link. His age profile worries me a little 27, if he was 24 or 25........I'm ok with getting him, just not that exciting is all.

Can totally understand this point of view. That's my main source of apprehension about his possible signing.

I've heard that we are trying to get Harper from North. Swap for a late pick

I really like Harper - great pace and a good, penetrating kick. 80 meter player off half back who has had a tough run with injuries. Would be a good addition for a late pick.
